Games Changing

Is it just me, or does it seem like games are getting better graphics, but are easier than older games? I know, the reasons behind harder games in the past were somewhat due to clunky controls, game limits, and/or high standards. But now, you have low standards, so-called intelligent AI(sometimes it's actually smart, other times not), fluid controls, and almost limitless for design and graphics. My question: Are games harder now or then?

hard to tell most games are way to easy now a days but could be the reason coz u get better the longer u play...who doesn't believe me that games are quiet easy now try the older and newer rainbow six games...

I voted for Harder Then. But I think it has nothing to do with the actual game. It's just that I improved a lot during the years of playing.

In the "old days" the games were impossible... but you wouldn't mind trying over and over until you got it right. Back then the games would resume simply on button smashing and if one enemy pixel touched your character you would die and go over the entire level again... it was hell on a cartrige, but still we finished those games.
Nowadays, you can save your game on every corner, and when you finish the game the most probable thing you will do is to never play it again.... so its not a problem if you aren't that good on the game...
Putting it simply, my younger self would kick my bony ass on about any game of today... thus voted on "Harder Then"...

they're harder then, back in the day games were designed to eat quarters
now games are designed to eat through $60

easier (crappier?) games = more games sold

there are a few exceptions these days, such as Ninja Gaiden, that bring difficulty to games
but for the most part games at the default difficulty are easier than the default (sometimes only) difficulty of the past

Only way to play is realisitic, And even then it's a little to easy.

And of course games are getting better graphics, Consoles are made to be power houses game wise now a days in the HDTV world. Better hardware = Better graphic possibilities. I would same games are getting easier cause there trying to market the games to younger kids, And people who don't really got much time to devote to games...Cause there pussys >.>

Clunky controls? Yea cause you know, up down left right A and B are pretty damn clunky and hard right? Games back in the 90s and 80s were challenging and thats how they should be.
