I don't know if this is a right place to ask but, like I said I need a help buying a new earphone and headset. Right now, I'm in Japan and there are TONNES of earphone/headset that I don't know what to choose from...
I don't have any specific taste in earphone and headset but, if possible I want to get something that is good/sylish/unique with good bass sound.
And also, I will be using:
- Earphone for mp3 player
- Headset for computer and mp3 (Computer mainly)
For the price, I can handle up to 15000yen (including both), that's around $178USD and 136 Euro
So, can you guys recommand me any good earphone and headset that I can buy?? or can you guys tell me tips or ways that I can buy good earphone and headset.
MOREOEVER, please don't say to buy from internet; I know I can easily buy off from net but since I came to Japan I might as well just buy a good one here than going back and buying from net... don't you guys agree??
Thanks a lot guys ^^ really appreciate your help http://www.animetake.com/forums/images/smilies/bigsmile.gif

Something to look into about head phones:
Ear buds (like what most joggers wear)
vs
Standard headphones (Think DJ Style)
Find out if you have any issues with either of them.
I have found out that ear buds tend to be too close to my ear drums and give me head aches. High pitched sound from them are also painful. So I stick with standard headphones.

If you are in Japan, get elecom since they got tons of varieties for any type of system you will use it for and designs you would like. I have tried one before and its pretty decent. hope that helps.
I have had dozens of headsets over the decades, but I think I've found a set i'll keep for a very long while as they are the best i've found.
They fit over the ear but don't seal against it so you don't get sweaty or uncomfortable after hours of non stop gaming. They have excellent sound quality, a reasonable price and should probably be easy enough to find a set in japan to test out before you buy.

I actually had to get a new pair last Tuesday I got the type shown in the second link.
I recommend these in general http://www.amazon.com/Philips-SHS4700-37-Earclip-Headphone/dp/B000G36GO0 now if you want it to block noise out from your surroundings it's ok but everything else is superb. You can get them at target from $19-$22 USD (the most I've seen is 22 dollars )
Whatever you do don't yank these out of the headphone jack as after using them daily for a year and pulling them out a few times a day my first pair shorted out (yet they still work if twist them every so often inside the jack so they'd probly work if I got a new plug.
I just got this pair at best buy for 31 USD they're on sale this week
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-DRV150iP-Headphones/dp/B00385XU8I/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1291856048&sr=1-1
so I don't know how they are long term but they seem to passively mute the surroundings a bit + side they have a built in iPod/phone remote
On a side note you will not find the philips headphones on target's site and you won't find the sony one's on best buy's site because they are not listed
Oh I missed the bit about you living in japan I'll see if I can find some retailers there that carry them ( *phazer* doesn't think Target or Best Buy exist in Japan )

If you have the extra extra cash to burn, why not try bose’s headphones. They have noise cancelling headphones, which submerges you in a different level of music savour. I like it because it gives you the full feature of the music though, low quality / low bit rate tracks will even emphasize the bad sides to it. If you are looking for something cheaper, try skull candy. They have a full line of different designs and colors that you will surely like.

If you haven't made your purchase already I'd recommend the Sennheiser HD 202s (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003LPTAYI/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_2?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B004BDOQB6&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1RGEGYDPCF5S2KTEQF64).
I purchased a pair about a year ago and I love them. I'm not a huge audiophile but I can definitely tell that the sound I get from these headphones is much better than any other headsets I've owned in the past. Plus, they aren't that pricey.
Only qualm I have with these headphones is that the cord is super long and needs to be wound up.

A cheap and beautiful pair would be the AKG K430! Small, portable and amazing sound response ;)
