well, i'm not very good at socializing, don't get me wrong i have a lot of friends (but i've known most of them for years so they're used to me (and i just act my normal loud crazy self around them)) but when i'm at Indian get togethers (where i'm the only guy my age and all the rest of the kids are girls or little kids), and am just trying to talk to other people (say in class) i'm either to quiet or to loud and show offy. it's embarrassing and i feel like an idiot. but what does some nerd like me who knows nothing about sports or much about pop culture to do???? plzzzzzzzzz help me :dark:

Find a group of like minded people to be around. That way you won't have to put on a false front.

My suggestion, don't be yourself.

Try to act cool and emo, those are popular now. ;>

To tell you the truth, 'cool' and 'confident' are things you can't get by being yourself.

well the thing is i am usually myself (just toned down a bit) but the thing is i can't really converse well with the people outside my social group... and when my parents circle of friends gets together there really isn't anyone i can talk with, i'm usually just being board and alone -_-

tried it, all the girls there aren't into what i am, and there's only 1 guy there (whop i do hang out with) but he isn't at a lot of the parties ><. i'm basically asking if any1 knows what to do after you know there is not much you have in common with others, because i've tried everything else....

Then there is no harm but learn something that she likes, you need to have something in common but do not expect much from her, you need to know her well and she must know you.
