The trees, the fire, the cabin, and everything looks so realistic.
The night time and being out in the woods goes quite well with Halloween.
The zombie like guy going up the walkway is really nice touch.

just love the background -typical for halloween - dark night , full moon , bats flying over the spooky cementary - crosses and these scary trees, in my opinion all this stuff just fit perfectly to the topic
the text is cool (for me 'trick or treat' sounds better ;) well-placed, visible and the way she made it (web-mode and candy-mode) pay my attention
the whole composition is amazing (candies, candles, demonic yet funny pumpkin lanters- so real and scary ) and follows with the atmosphere of Halloween
plus that little witch xd is well placed and must say that it's a perfect example of a witch chosen for such a night :]

They're all so good, it pains me to vote for only one.

It is 8 for me undoubtedly. I could go with cuter, more colourful wallpaper, but 8 is intensely creepy.

The main thing that I liked is the lighting. The torch gives off a nice, warm glow and the rays of light passing down through the trees (or cracks, holes, whatever they are) is subtle, but detailed and effective. Border is very nice too, although the corners seem to be sort of skewed to me. Very, very good overall. :3

i like the whole atmosphere of it, has very decent effects that fit with the render chosen as well as with the whole image of the wall, the pumpkin from the tree with the big ribbon gives a sweet taste to "Halloween" and because of it's simplicity it makes me wanna use it ^_^...not to forget it's yaoish [not a valid reason :P]

Well wallpapers are one tough compared to siggi and both required efforts.

My choices are 3, 6 and 8

6 is a bit small compared to others, so from 3 and 8 , I vote for 8

Looking at the theme, its well executed, a perfect wallpaper in-terms of Masking, Texture and composition. Adding a Text would make it more interesting.

Because I like that render. I like the play on "Witching Hour". He used Witchblade--that's bad ass (is that fan art? She looks more like one of the Original American version) Not just because I am a fan of WitchBlade...


Everyone had pumpkins, beasts and witches to make the "Halloween Theme" Apparent. Which is ok but it's "safe" it's just some Halloween ghouls with effects...... bestie did something diffrent. His interpretation and expression of the theme is diffrent. I like that because it still fits

I like very much the effects applied, especially the one on the background. Text is nicely done, lightning is good and the composition leaves space for icons. Good job.

I like the simplicity of the wallpaper, without too many distracting effects. The lighting that it uses focuses on the lamps and the moonlight out the window. The red eyes also match nicely with the blood and red glow from the lamps.

First off i love the border how it centers the scene so perfectly well, and the attention it draws to the far right corner. Halloween is about scary monsters T.T and trick or treating :D :D well well these two girls are ready to go out there and get some candy!!! :D i also love the mystery in the background >.>..which also adds some scary to the whole wallpaper now to get down to color etc etc The lighting for the tall girl is very impressive and how the light reflects off the pumpking on the the little girl kneeling down. VERY GOOD WORK I like how u can kind of play along with the background it can be a field the inside of a house u see grass and the shadows.looking at it closely its outside in the woods T.T ...lol how this is composed all together it fits PERFECTLY :D love the color coordination WELL DONE :D

Its dark and creepy and has the typical colors that I combine with Halloween... its one of the few entries that actually "feel" like Halloween :) The other entries are good too of course but are missing that certain feeling... so yeah xD

because, unlike some others, it's not overly smudged or crowded with unnecessary stuff. also, I like the atmosphere it gives off, the contrast to the dark background, which looks really good in my opinion. considering some elements are even hand-drawn, I think it's the best ;-)

2) The colors are neutral and are not too over whelming.
3) Text looks pretty neat as well, it fits in rather than stealing all the attention.

why ? first of all the colour theme strikes the halloween theme right on the spot. it's dark, has some orangeish and greenish colours in it. second, imo the grungy style of the background fits as well. it has a little mysterious feeling over all. third, the wallpaper isn't too full of things and on the lefts there's just enough space for icons and whatnot you need on your desktop. fourth, the girl has not such a cute aura about, she looks a little evil and like she wants to full you. (if you see what i mean) fifth, i'm actually not quite happy with the font here because it could have been worked better into the rest of the picture, but okay.
all in all, i think that would make a decent background during the halloween days. i'd use it if it would be larger. :D

I like how the lightening and shadow effects are used. Giving off the scary and creepy feeling really well. It's not out of place or looking strange the way it shows, but it fits well arund the light.
The colours used are also very halloween-y (it's not a word, I know. xb). The text might have been placed a little better, but it is not smth major. It is what I would have liked to have as a wallpaper during this weekend, at least.

It's difficult to choose between 3, 8 and 13 for me, but in the end #13 gets my vote.

I really love the atmosphere on this one, the background is nice too w/ the light rays on the back. The border also looks good and it gives the piece a better presentation overall. The lighting is good in, w/c are supplemented by the renders on the right side. In general the piece is quite simple with not that much effects but this is what makes it very clean and attractive altogether.^^

Also, props to Hybrix and Chioko for their entries, they really stood out from the rest, and the others you also made good entries for this Halloween. ^____^

1) Very good image manipulation (using many types of pumpkins) whats blends well.
2) Good perceptive of deph and placements of the objects. Great composition.
3) Kept the realism with great atmosphere.
