What animes should I watch?

I like romance, action, and anything to do with detectives and solving cases kind of anime. I'm mostly looking into romance type of animes since I've seen too many action and suspense ones.
Heres a list of stuff I liked in the romance genre

Death Note's always a good bet.

ef - A Tale of Memories is a good romance one, as is Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien, but that's pretty emotional...hmm what else?
Genshiken's pretty off-the-wall and realistic, but its not really romance, more slice-of-life, and Kino's Journey isn't romantic either, but its got a really good story,.
Fruits Basket is romance-ish, and funny too.

School Rumble is kind of romantic too, but its mainly slice-of-life, as is Ichigo 100%, but you could just rename Ichigo 100% 'Panty-Shot' and be done with it.

Death Note...watch it...is one of the best animes!!

If you like action see bleach, FMA, yu yu hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin..

Fushigi Yugi have action and romance, is good.
And DNAngel is good anime for you ^^

But Eyeshield 21 is a very good anime! watch it!

Death Note is a must...Someone may not "love" it (don't have any idea why) but everyone will definately say it's a good anime.
Chobits - a nice romantic story

Golden Boy - you should laught your ass off
Bleach - it had alot of action (thought i'm not a fan of the fillers...in fact i HATE them!)
Gantz - but after you watch the anime you will probably want to read the manga to know what happens next
Zero no Tsukaima - the first season was kinda entertaining (not the best of endings) Thought i wouldn't recommend watching the second and third seasons
