What are reputation point ?
They are not only certain points to access restricted areas. Cause I've seen people saying that. I've used it to do that but initially it is not used for that.
1- Reputation points are points given to thank the uploader for his/her work.
2- Members can give Green reputation ( Means good ) or Red reputation ( Means bad).
The reputation points can go for infinity, there is no set number ( Limit ) to it but there is max Green Bars and Red Bars for reputation point.
Red Bars
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
User is infamous around these parts -99999
User can only hope to improve -50
User has a little shameless behaviour in the past -10
User is an unknown quantity at this point 0
Green Bars
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
User is on a distinguished road 10
User will become famous soon enough 50
User has a spectacular aura about 150
User is a jewel in the rough 250
User is just really nice 350
User is a glorious beacon of light 450
User is a name known to all 550
User is a splendid one to behold 650
User has much to be proud of 1000
User has a brilliant future 1500
User has a reputation beyond repute 2000
Why Should I give bad or good reputation?
Well good reputation is to thank people for their work. Bad reputation " on other boards, people tend to hate certain people etc.. " So they neg (-) rep that user. So far on this forum, I haven't seen people like that. But who knows might in the future , I don't know but certainly it isn't fun to get neg (-) rep by another user.
What is Reputation Power ?
You start off with 10 reputation point when you register as your default reputation. Now your reputation power increase when your rep point increase.
** What do you mean ?
I mean let say a user have 1000 rep points, his/her (+) rep power and (-) rep power will be greater than a user with 500 rep points.
So let say if that user with 1000 rep point tried to rep you ?
He may be and that is an estimate, he may give you max around +20 rep points. or -10 derep points.
While a user with 500 rep point will give less rep point to another user of course.
~Finally, rep point show your popularity on this forum. I mean if you have a lot of rep point, that shows that you have been a great user on Nihonomaru. Since it shows that you participated a lot on this forum.

We have 3 different skins on this forum, each with different designs and different ways to how to give reputation.
Users Reputation
Many members work hard to help others on NM, if you like it, why not give a + to this user reputation? If you think someone deserves a good reputation, you can give it. If you don't, you can disapprove it too. We show you how:
Note: i was using the element blue skin when i took these screenshots.
1. Choose, I approve, or I disapprove and you can comment it and leave the reason why you approve it or not, or leave it blank.

3. The reputation will appear right under your username (the green squares):

4. It will also be showing detailed on your profile if you receive reputation from someone. The user name, the comment, and if its negative or positive. To check your reputation, go to User CP ([Only registered and activated users can see links]), and check the Latest Reputation Received.

How to check reputation rank ?
I don't think many know how to check their rank overall compare to other people so you go to Memberlist at the top of the navybar ^
Members list ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
And click on!
Reputation Rank ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
You will see the highest member who has the highest reputation.
If you want to find the lowest member who have reputation, click on [Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links])Reputation ([Only registered and activated users can see links]) [Only registered and activated users can see links] ([Only registered and activated users can see links])
Same thing with post count, you click on post to see who has the highest post counts!
When you check your Reputation using the User CP and see gray bars like this
[Only registered and activated users can see links]
This means that the user that tried to rep you has 0 rep power, which means you gained nothing from it!
