Okay, I was just wondering on how to do this? I have a friend with two monitors connected to the same computer. His mouse can go from one screen to the other. He can watch a video on one monitor at full screen and surf the web on the other. I'm kinda curious on how he did it and if I have any shot in hell of setting up my computer like his. BTW, I use Windows 98SE.

You can get video cards with two monitor plugs built in (mine is like that actually.) If your looking for one the best place to look is either Tiger Direct or New Egg. (I don't point out a brand because everyone has their own personal faves)

are you telling me that I just need two video cards and two monitors? Nothing else? Do I need to do any configurations/setting changes?

Well, in order to purchase one needs to "look" :P. Not to mention the person needs to buy one that suits his needs, since if you want a super powered one for gaming that costs a bit more then a cheapo just for work/minimal stuff.

Myself I have the e-GeForce 8800 GT (Roughly will run you $270 USD). Also its PCI Express 2.0. So take a look at your motherboard and see what it can handle.

Does anybody know for sure that windows 98 will support multiple monitors without extra software? I know XP does, and I'm pretty sure 2000 does as well.

What are you smoking? Nowhere in there did it say they didn't.

It stated that the person needed to look for one to fit their needs, whether it be a cheapo, or a powerful gaming one. Which if people selected for him it would mostly be the latter, and names of sites where provided to where he could purchase said products......Which is all easy to understand once one reads carefully without making dubious comments.
