A St. Charles County family mourns the loss of their teenage daughter to suicide, but there is also anger and online outrage over action they believe led to her death. The troubled teen's parents say their daughter was driven to her death in part by Internet attacks over a social networking site. The attacks were led in part not by other teens – but adults! FOX 2's Teresa Woodard reports the teen had battled depression for years.

dealing with depression alone is hard i know that from my own experiance but if she had found someone she could trust she may have been able to stop herself. i know that it's because of all the good friends i have that i'm able to stay strong.she also probubly didn't reach out to her parents, that's why they couldn't help her

Poor girl, she must have had really bad depression. It's scary, people who do not think about what they had done to that girl.

Myspace hackers are the last s**t! If they are unable to communicate with ppl they just hack into others' profiles and destroy or change them according to their likes, that sucks!Also, I had a damn big problem with them once, so I couldn't send or receive messages for ages! In addition they just pasted some nasty comments on my page and inserted a lot of crap into my inbox.
Finally it just ended up with me creating a new account to get rid of these bastards. But for persons who are really into the things they are doing on that page and are dealing with myspace kinda everyday it's really not so easy to cope with such a situation. It can have all kinda of reasons, not just bullying or harassment but also mental dependence on online activities as above.
Well all in all you should just take care of what ppl you are dealing with and "pull out the plug" at the right time and not to forget: myspace is not real life although way too many ppl are on the best way to think like that.

Suicide is the most selfish thing in the world.. because when you die all the people who love and care and know you will miss and weep and perhaps commit suicide as well... besides if your not religious like myself you have no idea what waits you after death... so why cut your life short when its been given to you to live it =|
I cant imagine the type of pain someone must be suffering to think about doing that... or even go through it.

I've contemplated suicide a few times but I never had the guts to go through with it... thinking about killing yourself and actually doing it... there is a big difference involved. I feel really bad for her parents... and those people who posed as that guy... thats just fucked. Seriously some people just sicken me... they had no reason to do that...

I don't know whatelse to say... What a huge loss.

Her Myspace was being monitored... the girl went against her mothers wishes and used myspace without her mother knowing.. growing up is all about making decisions, internet dating can be one of those.. say... experiences that you all have...

1. Get off the internet and talk to your niece then. Tell her how you feel about the whole matter.

that's just the thing, there are some persons who aren't as open with people, or aren't accepted for what they are or look like, so they are rejected and ostracized by "society" and/or the circles they move, so they have only two choices: become a hermit or become someone else through the internet, so when someone comes and destroys the new "you", they have nothing left, and they've been crushed twice already by the "society" they wanted so much to belong to...

I won't say a thing about those who disregard this as "idiotic", but i am glad that you have had good lives and don't have this kind of problems, because i've seen them first hand and it's not pretty...
