It's been on for three years. It surprised me by how well written it is and how the character grow and change in personality and beliefs. Kinda reminded of the old Batman: TAS that I used to watch as a kid in those respects.

Only recently got into this because of friends raving about it. I wasn't convinced by the first series, just seemed like episodic kids stuff. However end of 1st season was really good, then whole 2nd season was fantastic all of 3rd so far has been awesome. This one just gets better and better.

I have seen up until the end of the book of water I think then got lazy on watching. What book are they on on Nickalodean now? I hope to see them all, this show really is very good for a kid show on Nick! :P

Book 3: Episode 13 just aired this last Friday (dunno where Nick is at Episode wise, but I'd assume they're up to date).

I was introduced to Avatar by a coworker and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the show. Had to do a bit of catching up but within a week I'd watched all of book 1 and 2 and was caught up for the new episodes airing on TV.

And to think a bunch of americans came up with it, impressive (well not a bunch, but you get the idea....).

It's pretty good. Some even don't consider it an anime. It may be a cross between an anime and a cartoon.

I'd like to inform all of you that Avatar isn't an anime, as an anime has to be produced in Japan first, and needs to have a Japanese version, and Avatar has neither of these. Avatar is an American show, while anime is a Japanese cartoon. There isn't a Japanese version as far as I know, and thus this shouldn't be in the anime discussion section of the forum.

Avatar is a pretty good show. I enjoy it, but the first season episodes are far tiring, and they could put me to sleep as I've seen them millions of times.

Perhaps, but its definitely a step in the right direction for american (or western) animation.

On a different note, does anyone have any idea when the next batch of episodes are supposed to be coming out?

That is weird. There should be a thrid season but I can't find it.
I used to watch it on Ytv but then they stop airing it after second season and 3 episodes of the thrid one...

Season 3 (Fire) currently has 13 episodes. You might be lucky to find some on youtube.

I think they are supposed to continue it but I have no clue as to when they'll air more eps. I inhaled the first two seasons, it's quite hilarious when I think about that. The characters -- from villain to hero -- are well thought out and dynamic. The fighting sequences are among the best surprises, they are so well shot and well drawn. I got my mother hooked by previewing the first episode. I left her alone with my computer and she got through the first 14 episodes in one sitting! She only stopped because she needed to sleep to go to work! LOL It's very good crack. ^^

well, if you wanna watch so much, you should be able to find in avatar-chapters.com, the third season. But somehow they stop the show for no good reason. It has been 2+ months without any new chapters.

They do need to continue. They said new episodes were coming and they still havn't aired. I almost thought it was because Avatar lost viewer hype, but obviously if we are talking about it, it hasn't

didnt realize there was another thread on it... whoops i made one in the anime section lol...the finale was AWESOME and this show is greatly underestimated.... hell i dont see how people like one piece and not avatar?...One Piece Sucks and thats japaese..IMO but just cuz it avatar is amercian it cant be good? i cant wait for the 3rd season to realease in Sept cuz im definitely buying it...

Watched the finale on Saturday. I watched it with my friends and I thought it was an amazing storyline with great graphics. I hope the story continues since this is one of the most interesting shows on Nick.:lovelove:

I watched this cartoon and i actually liked it... It's pretty cool and i'm impressed since it wasn't made by asians lol. It's a great cartoon and really funny.

that was a kinda bad way to phrase that lol...unless u are asian of course.... but i think it should end and no new season....i couldnt see anything else happening thats more important then saving the world...since the firelord was the ultimate bad ass... who can they possibly make stronger then him? and have it fit in.. maybe a movie of the gang doing an adventure would be nice...like what somebody else posted....zuko's mother being found and the air nomads existence...but not an entire season... to me everything was kinda tied up and no loose ends IMO:digicharat01:

There will definitely be no season 4. Bryan and Mike confirmed that at the SDCC 2008. But there could be a new Avatar series. It's up to Nick if they allow Bryan and Mike to create a new one.

The 3 Live-Action-Movies will be summaries of the 3 Books. The first is scheduled to air in July 2010 afaik.
