The third in Atlus' unusually thought-provoking RPG series. In Persona 3, you play as a 17 year-old boy who's just transferred schools. Immediately after entering his dormitory, he comes under attack of a mysterious Shadow enemy. With his unique ability to switch Personas rather than just summoning a single creature, he ends up becoming leader of a special extracurricular force attempting to defeat Shadow.

Players get to experience school life in Persona 3. You take control of the main character during each day of school, controlling his school efforts, managing the dorm, and exploring the town, and your relationship with the community affects your battle skills. When the clock turns midnight, the world enters "Shadow Time", and the battles begin. Emerge victorious from a battle, and you earn new Persona Cards. These cards hold your Persona summons, and by combining cards, you can make a new Persona.

I played this about about 4 weeks ago.It was pretty fun,though my girlfriend got mad when she found out that its has...uhh..eh I'd better not say what it was,since I think it would be a spoiler.Any way it was a pretty good game.I thought the battle system was especially good.Ofcourse thats just me.

one of the last greats rpg for the ps2, i really liked how they added the school/dating elements to the dungeon(tartarus) part and and the plot was very good

Persona 3 is the game the brought me to the Shin Megami Tensei series. It's one of my top favorite games, and it's a refreshing twist to the old school RPG gameplay. What other game has the characters shoot themselves in the head to summon?

Yes, it is the shoot-yourself-in-the-head rpg. Its one of my favorite rpgs as well...Thanatos was an incredible persona.

Persona 3 was worth the wait and yet XPLAY says Its not very good well I got news for XPLAY you suck at reviewing games but the only thing I didn't like about the game was the English voice actors I wish they put a Japanese option in the game also I had to go out of my way to download the UNDUB version to play Persona 3.

IMO i thought the voice acting was pretty good compared to the rest of the dubbed rpgs out there. XPLAY gave a biased review. Anyone who doesn't have the game should go get one now. I play A LOT of RPGs, and this one was quite refreshing compared to the rest of them.

Places to look if you haven't already bought: Babbages (Saw a couple of used copies there in my local one), Game Stop (yeah i know...but saw some used copies there as well). In short, any used game shop at your local area.

I would have to agree with dud and say the dub is actually pretty good. While it's definitely not on par with the Japanese version, it's pretty decent when compared to other localized JRPGs.

I've played many RPG's where I have to explore boring dungeons.

IN this game, NO MORE ANNOYING DUNGEONS.

Still, I have to meet some characters to earn new personas. But I think it's fun to interact with the NPCs and watching some nice side-stories.

There still is quite a bit of dungeon crawling depending on the way you play. But if you dislike crawling, you aren't reforced to always go into it, a few days out of the month is more than enough in most cases.

The main guy is pretty darn cute. And he's not emo. Too cute for emo. And he wears earphones most of the time. Pfft. Win. :imc:
