~Maru's Showrooms~

an idea for the Artistic Lounge section :3
a showroom where the Gfx Artists can show off their work...

ofcourse you can already do that in the Artistic Lounge,
but in a showroom you can show off all your work + people only get 1 showroom,
so topics won't vanish so fast xD

a +point of a showroom is that you can see things like the progress of a GFX Artist,
his/her style for the graphics,
where they're good at and their best works.

then in the showroom people can comment on the graphics and ask things.

and how to use the showroom idea?
well, think a subsection in the Artistic Lounge (like the request section) is a good idea.

ofcourse you'll need some rules like...

Maru's Showroom Rules

1 Showroom Topic per Gfx Artist
A Maxmimum of 6 reserverd posts
Graphics Bigger then 250x500/500x250 Need to have Thumbnails
If more then 65 Graphics has been posted then put a [56k Warning] tag in topic title
You Need to Post more then 10 Graphics to be Allowed a Showroom
You Need to have posted more then 5 Topics in the Artistic Lounge showing your Graphics
If a Showroom has been made, but no Graphics has been posted in the first week the Showroom will be locked
Posting style for Topic Title: [Showroom] Name+Words [56k Warning] example = [Showroon] Sensei-kun's Lounge
and if needed put the [56k Warning] in the topic title.

I saw this once on another forum, and it was quite usefull for people who post alot of graphics and all kinds of styles.
It's ofcourse also usefull for the Artist to get overall comments on their graphics and get tips for help...

I like this idea. But that's prety much what the Artistic Lounge is anyways....
As for the rules part, that Topic Name restrictions and such isn't really neccissary.
65+ doesn't really apply to 56k Warnings, becasue sometimes even 56k users have that problem at like 10+ pics..... It all depends on the file size of the images, and not the # of images.
The Thumbnail idea is alright, but for Some sig users tha't not really needed, becasue some people have sigs bigger than that limit, and it's a lil stupid to thumbnail a small enough image already, lol.

I thought it was a good idea to warn people if a showroom will load very slow, but just picked a number of pictures, like you could have 65 ava's and the showroom will load fast xD but it's better to set a number of pictures then sizes, then you can count up all the filesizes of the images xD

as for thumbnail is for people with slow working desktops/laptops, like my laptop, things like big pictures and flash files really lagg the pages for me...

and as for topic name, well, if you put the [Showroom] tag in the beginning of the topic and you're on the index page of the forum then you can see right away if there's a new posts in the showrooms or not xD but nah, it isn't really needed, just thought it'd be a good idea to keep order xD

i don think we need this right now at all

1st we dont have many gfx ppl here just a few
2nd not many ppl post in the gfx section their work its d same 2-3 ppl

in short if we get more gfx ppl it is a good idea otherwise there is no real necessity

thought this was a nice way to try to get more people because people beginning with PS can also make a showroom and get help through that and motivate others to start aswell... atleast that was what I was thinking xD

Yea there is, Hi.
And I think its an okay idea, not really many people post their work in the artistic lounge section anyways. It might lead to a few more gfxers active with posting their stuff...maybe.

and for the minimum amount of things I would change it to 5 instead of ten to encourage people just starting out...
lets see what somebody else says.

I was already doing this (and pretty sure a lot of people do it too), thought it would be a lot organized, but meh I just cba updating my thread anymore since nobody cared to look at the end of a thread. A completely new thread always seems more interesting.

Speaking of which, can one of the mods delete my thread in the Artistic Lounge. It's called "Icy's Corner". No point in keeping it there lol

hmm, yea, 5 would be more better if you think about the beginners...

and thus this could be a way to help and attract beginners...

but if you'd have a showroom topic in a section for only showroom topics it'll be better...

I think it is a very good idea. I wanted to show my wallys and sigs so that you can give your opinion but i didnīt found a thread for that.:hope:
And if everyone who wants to show their results get an own showroom then is it not many of them because some of you said here are not many GFX-ler.

~sorry for grammaticaly mistakes but iīm not really good in english:em048:~
