Moody Niho?

Hi,

Every once in a while, something happens and when I try to post, I can not use apostrophes, slashes, and my cursor keys. (In fact, it is happening now). If I try to use the apostrophe, Quick Find pops up for links. If I try the slash, I get a general quick find. If I use the cursor keys, nothing happens.

Because it does not always happen, I figure it is a feature I am somehow turning on. How can I avoid turning on this feature?

actually the same happened to me as well yesterday, i was using firefox at that time but then when i switched to IE it was working fine. i couldn't figure out if it was my browser or the computer.

It also happens for me at times. Most of the times I double-click beside where I'm writing and then it works just fine again. But or else it can be something with your computer or Niho there is down at the moment; perhaps the server is not working right, I don't know XD

@commander'A: I am using Firefox, but it could be a coincidence. That's the trouble with intermittent problems. :-/ (BTW, it's not doing it now)

If you use a wireless keyboard, cold be the batteries, but thats just stating the obvious.
~other wise, could be your drivers being corrupt.

actually, it's bugging me quite alot now. i'm having that problem almost everytime i try to edit my threads, that is why i use IE when browsing through niho but still. it could be a problem from our side as well, did you try anything out?

Sounds bad!

I've not tried anything yet because it hasn't happened again. It is hit or miss. Sometimes it happens five or six times in a row, then nothing for a long time.

Such is the nature of the Poisson distribution XD.

Interesting, though, that it happens when we use Firefox. I know Firefox checks spelling on the fly (that's why I use it :-) so I think I'll see if Firefox has some find feature. It only happens when I am on Niho, but maybe that's a coincidence.

I spent some time at the Firefox support site and found something that might be the problem.

[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

In case the link does not work, the issue is something called the Fast Browser Search. It is a plug-in. To see if you have it, go to tools/plug-ins. To remove it, you need to uninstall it there and remove it from the list on the search bar.

I checked this machine and it does not have it. I am not sure, though, if I ever had the problem here. I'll check the other machines I use next week.

hmm.. i don't have that add-on either. but oh well i'm gonna switch to IE anyway when i reinstall windows in a few days, i should bear with this until then :P
