[Suggestion]Animated GIF Avatars

I think the 8500+ Post just for animated avatars is nuts, even though the limit to signatures don't even apply. Say for example, a few giant sigs with spoilers and wallpapers or something inside would be pretty much equivalent to a GIF right?

it's high, becasue if u look at the avatar image address

They don't just load from the Address from another place u uploaded to, but they are side-loaded to the nihonomaru server.
Animated Sigs can be a bandwidth problem for the server, so that's why u have to have High posts to earn it.
I for one wanna have an animated avatar also, but i'll have to earn it like the other people who have reached that ammount ^.^

There are people with less that have animated sigs, but they are mods/admin.
They are Exempt from the post requirements, lol

I already knew this, but it could be simply solved if they allowed hosting of avatars from an offsite uploader.

The problem with that, is becasue ur at the mercy of the place you uploaded to. If the server you upload the image to goes down, or gets removed, then the images loading on the avatars, may stall the loading of the forum pages becasue of it trying to continue loading an image that isn't even there.
also some people use photobucket, imageshack, or tinypic. if the image gets removed, thoes dreaded removed pics images may appear which is awefull >.<

Whats the chance of it getting removed if u uploaded it yourself, within the rules of the image hoster? I for one am for offsite uploaders or w/e its called!

It doesn't have to be removed, Ur als at the mercy of the imagehost's lag also.
Sometimes they can take forever for images to load.
Then u have people who hotlink from other websites without uploading it to another host, and thoes images, ur at the mercy of that host....
While as long as nihonomaru is working, the avys will load at Nihonomaru's speed.
