I finished reading the manga, it was decent... It could've been better for me. I love the idea a creativety, but it didn't really leave a lasting impression on me[even though I finished it about 2 weeks ago] I remember the elf song though, was quite touching. I cried a bit for the end lol. Im not ashamed to admit that

Well, the manga's waaaaaay longer than the anime, obviously. The anime's chosen a different track as well. Prime differences lie in the ending of course:

Lucy kills all of the scientists, saving Nana in the process. Having rescued her, she sends her home. Then she goes to Kouta and begs his forgiveness. He says he can't forgive her for what she's done, but he can make sure she never kills again by taking her along to live at the Kaede Inn. In the last episode, we see her standing at the door of the inn as Kouta walks up to open it. Then suddenly, the broken clock in the hallway suddenly starts clanging away. Das Ende.

Manga ending:

Lucy, captured by the evil Kakuzawa, manages to set herself free, even as the other diclonii imprisoned on the island go on a rampage. After she kills Kakuzawa and her little brother (surprise!), she tries to destroy the vector ship that the navy has created. Then she manages to reach Yuigahama, where she encounters an angry Kouta. They talk, and Kouta tells her that he can't forgive her for what she's done, but he can make sure she never kills again. Lucy promises, but has to fight soon after when Kurama tries to kill her. Kouta steps in, and eats lead. Enraged, Lucy goes insane and tries to destroy the whole world. But the entropy in her body causes it to melt, leaving her a horrible carcass. Eventually, she reminds Kouta of his childhood promise to kill her. Sad, he kills Lucy. The last chapter takes place 10 years later, when he and his daughter (also named Nyuu) visit the site where Lucy left a message for him. There, they meet a surprise: Lucy's twin daughters, who have been waiting for so long for him to come. Overjoyed, Kouta rushes to hug them. Das Ende.

I cried for a long time when watching the final episode of the elfen lied, I was surprised that it was the protagonist(forgot his name) who killed Lucy in the manga. Both Manga and Anime is good. Elfen lied's OP made an impact on my mind though.

I liked the manga. I watched the anime first, so I knew what to expect. I was always hopeful for a "Lucy Lives!" kindof ending, but I guess the way it ended was to be expected.
