anyhow, the OVAs seem the best to me, in particular the Ala Alba OVA. the first anime was fairly decent, if a bit slow. the second was funny but went to far from the manga for my tastes. Also The Manga is awesome.

Negima is pretty much the only manga I read and keep up to date nowadays...just too much going on in life...and then I started WoW...yea...that killed whatever free time I had after IRL e.e...but negi I always kept up with...its definitely much more developed than the others and there is so much more potential than akamatsu's other work...though I do wish akamatsu would actually pay more attention to the anime adaptations of his work...I don't think there was any I actually liked very much :|

You are somewhat ignorant of the fact is that Negima doesn't really have anything to do with Harry Potter (If you read the books). The only element that they took from Harry Potter is the main character is a wizard from Britain.

Besides I love Negima it's probably one of my absolute favourite series of all! The Manga is really good, cause it's very funny and yet a very serious one at times. The only unfortunate thing is the anime. (Sob) It doesn't have a good track record

First series (Mahou Sensei Negima): follows the manga up to volume 6 then veers off to a completely different ending which can be highly criticised by fans. The animation was poorly done, but the music they used was very good (The only good point of it).

Second Series (Negima!?): The story is completely different to the manga, the jokes are funny but some are not good and others may be repeated too often. The studio Shaft did a much better job than the previous one (Xebec), music is okay at times.

The OVAs (Haru, Natsu and Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba): Haru followed the story on chapter 61 in volume 7 of the manga. Natsu just did a little story on Nodoka and Negi's relationship and the whole class goes into a bath house. Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba illustrates Chapters 176 and 177 in the first episode, 178-180 in the second, and the third 182-183. Studio Shaft did all the OVAs. The animation in the first two is the same as Negima!?, however the third OVA is probably the best one of all (so far), because the animators work closely to the original storyline and the character designs. So you would find that the OVA almost looks like the Manga (But better!). The music is good in all three especially the third one since the intro and ending are remix versions of the first series.

Sorry for the long post, I needed to get that issue of my chest.

yeah mahou sensei negima is one of thos anime which is better read than watched
