BERSERK by Kentarou Miura

I know that it is a violent one but I can't help it: I love Berserk!!!

The drawings are beautiful and the story really intersting, and I like the fact that there is also a lot of humour thanks to Puck!!
oh God I love Puck!!! he's just so cute!!!

Well I first read it because my brother bought it (it's cheaper for me ) three years ago.

Now tell me why do you like/dislike this manga? and how and when did you start reading it?

I like it.. so dark but at the same time it resonates with a person. I first read it about 5 years ago.

Berserk is definitely an excellent manga. With a well written story, humor, action and enough character development.
A little gory on the side, but if you can stomach this kind of violence, Berserk is one hell of a ride.

Funny thing is that I knew about Berserk in the now defunct website of J-pop, ever since I was searching for the manga.

I like it, I read it up to a certain point somewhere after the anime ended. I hope to make time for manga reading but I've been pretty busy and I have a lot of anime I need to finish watching that I keep putting off halfway. Love the Gore. :)

Berserk has to be one of the best manga of all time for sure. Great engaging story. Awesome hero with great action. However, the greatest strength of this manga is also its greatest flaw.

I've read from various Berserk fansites that the creator Kentaro Miura is a perfectionist. The story is well thought out and the pictures are completely hand drawn by him only. He does not have any assistants supposedly. The manga has been running since 1990 and supposedly Kentaro Miura has said its not even 1/3rd complete yet!

Sadly, I dont think Berserk will be finished in his lifetime. Even if it is, it will take another 20 years. It may just end up being an incomplete manga.

Great post! I agree, Berserk takes soo loong but its an awesome manga and ill read it till my grave if i have to. Right now, it seems a stark contrast to the beginnings of the manga with a very lonely and depressing atmosphere. These days, his group of friends give the manga a warmer tone, and i hope it symbolizes the warming of Guts heart. I think he would go absolutely nuts if one of them dies. Heres hoping they dont!

This is my favorite manga, and this last arc with the gruop it's the best. I love Farneze & Puck is the ownage. Everything about Berserk is awesome. Worse thing is having to wait for the new chapters to come out.

I agree this is easily one of those epics that you have to read if your a fan of action. When I was first introduced to this manga, a year ago it only took me a couple of days to catch up to the current story. The journey and intricacies that this manga explores and displays makes it my most favorite manga title yet. I guess since the mangaka is getting old, the future might be a tad bleak, but like everyone else, I will find a way to read every single part no matter what! This story is just _THAT_ awesome.

That's true, we're not even at a mile to see the end of this story. You're pretty optimistic when you say it will take 20 years to see the end, Kelesis.
But whatever! This manga is my favourite, and it will still be my favourite in 20 of 30 years!
