81 Fruits Basket (Furuba)

It's one of the bet shoujo manga out there!

Fruits Basket is the story of Honda Tohru, a kind girl whom has recently lost her mother, and trying to make it in the world on her own. By working a part time job, and now camping in the woods for a home, Honda is simply trying to get by while at the same time trying not to worry the few relatives, and close friends she has. But when Honda stumbles across the secret of the high school prince, and the rest of his family she ends up getting more than she bargained for. Without spoiling any more of the show, Fruits Baskets is fun and emotional roller coaster ride that will make you laugh one minute, and cry.
Personally, I think it is a moving story with excellent characters (Kyo and Haru! Kyahhhhhhh!!! ) and a great plot that shows a new secret, a new problem (that sometimes is a metaphor for things we deal in our quotidian) in which chapter!

I love this manga!

Re: Fruits Basket (Furuba)

This is the first manga I read so it was quite some time ago and I don't remember all the details. But even now it remains one of my favorites....it is that good.It has a lot of different types of characters so it's a sure thing you'll have your favorite.Mine was and it will always remain Yuki Sohma...his rat form is so sweet.
But I have to say I hated Tohru Honda...I hate that type of character: always good, perfect, sweet, understanding, who everybody loves, who isn't capable of doing anything wrong....who is perfect....that kind of person does not exist and I don't like reading about that kind of shoujo heroins.
But it's a great manga, highly recommended!

Yeah, it's a really good shoujo manga indeed. There is very good character development, plot, and also you feel the emotions the mangaka wants you to feel.

Re: Fruits Basket (Furuba)

A bit too drawn out, and a little too dramatic, but the comedy was good.

Re: Fruits Basket (Furuba)

hm... if you all love Fruits Basket, I have a recommendation. A manga called "Tsubasa: Those with Wings" is out and it's done by the same author. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
