Re: The Best Shoujo anime/manga
My gf really liked "Kareshi Kanojo no Jijo (His and Her Circumstances in US)" or "Azumanga Daioh"
You have to make her watch the Japanese language subtitled version though, because the Dubbed English is terrible, and ruins the comedy, and feel of the stories. We just don't have good voice actors yet here in the US for some reason. I know a lot of Girls that like "Full Metal Alchemist" and seeing that on cartoon network is what got them into anime. They didn't do a bad job on that dubbing. |

Re: The Best Shoujo anime/manga
My sister has become like a pro at introducing people to anime/mangas. anime before mangas, usually start off with Fruits Basket or His and Her Circumstances. They watch the anime and then the same series of the manga. I think that's how she does it. It's worked from people that were anti-anime to almost 30's.

Re: The Best Shoujo anime/manga
well if you want her to fall in love with shoujo anime I recommend BOKURA GA ITA. It is the most romantic anime out there and it also helped a lot of people realise things and learn new things about relationships. This is a great anime because it is also realistic so let her try watching it. I watched it from the first to the last episode 3 times and I cried each time. Type in BOKURA GA ITA on wikipedia for a description of the anime. And if she likes it tell her to read the manga to learn what happens next and tell her to start at volume 9 when she is done watching the anime.

Re: The Best Shoujo anime/manga
I recommend anything by CLAMP, excluding Rg Veda...
and I second/third KareKano and Fruits Basket, definitely. Ayashi no Ceres = avoid the dub. God I hated her voice. hate hate hate. suggest paradise kiss as well for the older bracket. |
