Natsume Takashi has the ability to see spirits, which he has long kept secret. However, once he inherits a strange book that belonged to his deceased grandmother, Reiko, he discovers the reason why spirits surround him. Containing the names of these spirits, a binding contract was formed between the spirits and the owner of the book. Now, Natsume is determined to free the spirits and dissolve the contracts. With the help of a spirit cat, his days are filled trying to return the names to these spirits. (ANN) Thoughts Calawain: This could be interesting, reminds me a bit of xxxHOLiC so I’ll at least give it a whirl. Supernatural stuff is often interesting if done right, although downright dull if done wrong. Impz: I was telling Calawain this. “Why am I feeling FMA vibes?”. Then I realize it is the coat. Well, lame comments aside, supernatural stuff seems somewhat interesting all the time. I will take this for now. itsubun: First one to catch my interest on the list. Can has potential. I’ll probably bully Impz into writing a collab with me because I are too lazy to write a whole post by I-self. Riex: Been there, seen that a thousand times. Unless it oozes Mushishi vibes, I’ll probably pass. Looks like Rental Magica meets Okami or something. Shokkeru: Looks alright. I never really liked watching fantasy anime for some reason… I wonder why. Briar: Like Itsubun, this is the only one I may be watching so far. As long as it doesn’t turn out to be as episodic as the summary sounds. Extrange: Maybe I am being paranoid, but these days, everything seems to be a fusion of two previous works. This one, for example, is a mix of Mushishi and XXXHOLiC. One thing I’ve liked on the manga was the singular feeling of loneliness the character portrayed even when he was surrounded by all the spirits. Viewing Potential: 3.5/5 but only if you are sensitive to spirits. Crusader: Have fun Impz. ![]() Last edited by Rina Touin; 07-09-2008 at 09:33 AM. |
