Most of us probably have music folders overflowing with tracks collected from over the years (mine's at about 23 GB so far), and I always wonder if people are as selective with what they listen to as I am. We all have thousands of .mp3's, but I'm sure everyone has their own list of favorite tracks too, which is probably much smaller than their entire collection.

What I'm getting at is, wouldn't it be neat to swap those golden playlists amongst ourselves and show each other what we've found to be the "best" tracks? On a mac (I'm sure there's a way to do this on windows too), I always color code the files in each OST I download, marking my favorite tracks in green so that I only put my absolute favorite tracks on my mp3 player (a measly 2 GB, so it's partly a practice motivated by conservation of disc space ). I'm really interested in what everyone else has found to be their favorite tracks too, so wouldn't it be cool to start a thread where we can upload samples of our best-of-the-best musics of all kinds?

Of course, everyone likes different music, so what's considered the "best " is largely opinion-based too, but it could be really fun if enough people took the time to round up their favorite tracks, zip em' up, and upload them for all to see (hear?). Kind of like an audio signature of sorts. I'll be creating my own as an example later, but in the mean time, I'd be willing to give out brownie points to anyone willing to give it a shot!

I'm still wondering how the presentation should be, so what you see isn't quite finalized yet, but it's the music that counts, right? Give it a listen and maybe consider posting your own. I'll rep those who join in on the fun ^ ^

Yeah, sorry I haven't gotten around to posting an example yet, cause I think it would clarify what I mean a bit. I'm getting there ^ ^ I just have so much old music that I'm going through and I've been a bit busy, but this week should free up finally, so perhaps I'll show you guys my example soon

it's an interesting idea but what happens if the collections become really similar? and to zip and upload the entire thing would be huge (my favorite music folder is >3gb). We could upload playlists instead, maybe? Also, not too sure what you mean by audio signature, do you just mean an unique playlist?

Yeah, the whole thing would be too big obviously, but taking your absolute favorite tracks of all time should end up being much smaller. So yeah, I guess you'd basically be uploading a playlist. I'd say anything that fits into less than 100mb so that it would be a single file on a site like megaupload. And by signature, I mean you'd just put the link to that file in your sig, so people can get a taste of what you listen to. I'm this close to getting all mine together, so I'll show you soon ^ ^

This is a pretty cool idea. I'll start siphoning some of my favorite songs into a collection. It'll take a while, but I'll get it done eventually. :) (<3 Ellegarden)

Sure, any music is totally fine, it doesn't have to be just anime OSTs or Japanese bands. Just make it your own, since this is a new idea anyway feel free to experiment beyond what I've said or shown. Looking forward to everyone's uploads ^ ^
