Re: Gantz
*Whistle*
This one surprised me. I watched it by getting each disc from Netflix and each disc only had 2 episodes most times and I was not expecting what I got, not that it was bad just that it was different. It seemed real. You get all these animes where the protaganist kills and kills without regret but this one shows the regret, and the remorse from losing someone else at the same time as showing that badass-ness. |

Re: Gantz
GANTZ was one of the first manga I've ever read, but quit somewhere. I do have a desire to continue, I just don't have the time to actually do it.
Don't misunderstand me - I do NOT consider this a good manga nor anime. Despite for some comical relief (hey, GANTZ-himself is pretty funny if you ask me. Not to mention the dog), the series offers a lot of mindless action which is fun for a few eps, or a few chapters in the manga... but gets dull way too fast. Despite that someone in this topic mentioned that GANTZ is very unpredictable, I completely disagree. Everything in the series, both manga and anime (note that there are differences, which I'll get back to later) are very predictable, which is one of the reasons why the series become dull quickly. But if I misunderstood you, and you mean that GANTZ-himself (the black ball) is unpredictable, in that case, I completely agree with you. Pardon my words, but GANTZ (the ball) is awesome. GANTZ didn't get a good mark from me when I finished watching the anime. Despite that it has superb animation and the voice acting isn't all that bad, the story is hardly present. I do admit that the ending of GANTZ (first season) was especially unexpected, especially because I had been reading the manga far beyond that point. Not only made it smile appear on my face, it also quickly disappeared after that, because the climax was actually quite bad. I have no desire to rewatch the anime and the only reason why I would like to continue with the manga is because it is the only manga left (AND Hajime no Ippo, which is unfinished) that I haven't finished reading yet. Nonetheless, the opening theme and ending are pretty good and they often appear in my music-playlist. |
