I've been wondering

Well I just got photoshop (CS2 because it was the only one I was semi oriented with) and I was wondering, after throwing together random pieces of crud (my skills are lacking at the moment haha), what inspires people. I know that to be inspired myself I usually listen to some genre of music, basing the genre on some vague notion of what I have in mind, and hope the music pulls that ghost of an idea to the physical (or in this case digital?) world.

Sooo my Q, put simply, is :What inspires you guys to make your sigs, or other works of art? Or how/where do you get inspired?

What inspires me?

The desire to create. The need to try something new.

I take one look at signatures of other artists, and I say to myself, I can make something like that too, if only I try hard enough.

Couldn't say it any better than that.
In my first semester in college, I had my introduction to Photoshop and I been hooked since.
Now I use it for DVD box art and for designs for T-shirts.

Inspiration should come to the artist before he begins it's art.
Or at least, the need of it. After that, it's mostly hard, hard work, sustained by the passion.
The place i got inspired most is bus trips. No joke: you'll never get in a place so literally full of life eh eh..

Inspiration for me comes from the very works I base them off of. The backgrounds I usually do based on a whim and whatever I find that matches well with the render. Often times it's the stunning artwork in some anime which lend to the styles I use myself

I haven't done my own sig, but i really get inspired by listening to "NARUTO OST" music, I know it sounds gay, but the sad songs like "sunset", is really good, and then you go outside, preferably at sunset, and you can drown in inspiration. It is very important to stay outside & listen.

Stanford Psychologists are working on a hypothesis called Eureka Effect at the moment, saying that people will get inspirations when they wandered away from their tasks and has to focus on them again.
