Hollow Earth theories come in many forms but perhaps the strangest of all is the believe that there is another habitable surface on the inside of the Earth with its own sun at the center of the Earth! One (albeit insane) 'scientific explorer' is trying to raise $2 Million to mount an expedition through the ice caps to find this 'Inner Earth.'

Hollowed earth was once used in a D&D campaign. Inside the crust people were living in the bronze age and the prehistoric ages. You could only access it with spells or by a specific passage. It was published in the ages in some almanacks. It is not a theory of late. Also it also showed up in movies and books (Jules verne story : trip to center of the world)
