Hey everyone I'm new here but I gues saying that is a bit redundant, so I'll give you a list of things I like:
Anime, manga, board games, strategy games, catgirls, programming, pie, fantasy, music (as long as it isn't rap) and D&D.

I'm male, age 23 and diagnosed a dutch dyslextic so please excuse any spellings errors I make in english.

Well then let the pie throwing begin!

Re: Greetings and salutations

I don't really bother myself to much with avatars and signatures, Avatars are nice but not really nessisary I identify users by their names instead of avatars. Signatures are a pain since on many forums people have signatures that take half my screen while they only post a single line of text.
Still thanks for pointing it out though.

Anyways I both DM and play as player, recently finished with a anime D20 rpg with me as DM, which plays a lot better then I expected though as DM you'll need to keep an eye out that the players don't minmax everything.
Now I'm in 2 more campaigns, one standard fantasy D&D and one where we play evil characters in Forgoten Realms (go red wizards). And a friend of mine is going to start a D&D campaign where normal races don't exist (no humans, dwarves elves or other races encountered in every D&D story).

Re: Greetings and salutations

That was a standarized post to prevent new members asking the same things again and again. ;)
Unfortunately, big sigs can be found here too.

I like standard D&D more than anything lese. I like to create my own words. It's tons of work, but it's fun too. :) I'm planning a world where the elves are the ruling race. ^^
I've never played an anime D20 rpg and I won't ever, probably. I've read some Forgotten Realms novles but never played using that world.

Have You played anything else other than D&D?

Re: Greetings and salutations

Sure played I've also played GURPS and World of Darkness from White Wolf (Vampire the masquerade, werewolf the apocalypse etc)

Both have their perks and flaws though. GURPS is annouying because you need a few hours to make a character (too many skill and abilities to memorize like I did with D&D). However once you get it going it plays pretty easy also the large amount of options and freedom with selecting what you're character learns (not bound to a class like D&D) is great for specializing. Though it also means you can minmax quite a bit.

Vampire and the rest of the World of Darkness setting is easier with character creation however where D&D was focused on classes in the WoD everything depends on your race. And the races are not really balanced so trying to mix Vampire with Werewolf is pretty impossible (except as badguys). Also the progression of characters is quite slow with awards of only 2 to 3xp a session while increasing an ability can cost up to 50xp (with 1 session every 2 weeks it would take about 8 months to see only a little bit of progress in your character).

Re: Greetings and salutations

Never heard of GURPS, but I've played Vampire. :)
Actually I'm working on that D&D world and on a "Vampire world" at the same time. Because of the mentioned flaws I'll apply some tweaking to the WoD rules. I think a seesion in Vampire is easier to run, the players doesn't ask you me every two minites what rule to use that time... D&D needs much more practice on the players' side. And I don't like it's magic system. I wanted to make a club here and create a "mosaic magic system", but roleplayers are very few here...
(I will make that club, but I don't know when.)

Re: Greetings and salutations

Let me know when you make the club I myself have been thinking about trying to create a roleplaying system from scratch. I love working with numbers perhaps even more then actual roleplaying :D

Still I don't share your oppinion on D&D in our group we have one novice player and 4 veterans. But even our novice seems to have learned all the rules quickly so we now only need to grap a rulebook when using really obscure rules we normally never encounter.

I do agree on magic though it's completely unbalanced making sure wizards are crappy in their first few levels before becomming uber damage dealers late game plus crafters of items while having the answer to every problem a DM might think off as long as they get a nightsleep to prepare the right spells.

Sure. We are a bit alike. I spent a lot of time with numbers mostly creating characters I never use. The beauty of D&D. xD
