Hey phazer, I got your PM, it has been a while huh? From the looks of your renders here, you've definitely improved from where you were a few months back.

I'd love to join, though I'm not sure how many renders I'll be doing anytime soon, I can at least comment and give a bit of advice here and there.

I guess the only advice I have now would be to experiment on ways to get rid of that thin white line (like in the one above, it has that speckled white outline) that sometimes shows up when you don't render close enough to the edge. I found that sometimes you have to actually shave off parts of the original to get the edge looking like a smooth, solid color.

Re: Rendering Club

Speaking of the pen tool, what process do you use once the path is created? I used to just convert the path to a selection and delete the background that way, but I find I get a cleaner edge if I create a layer mask, then fill the path with black to erase the background. I also like this method because it lets you fix mistakes or adjust the outline without actually hurting the original image, since it's all done through a handy layer mask. Anyone else have other techniques?

Re: Rendering Club

well I hook the anchors up then right click and say make selection. Then I press delete which makes the background white and I usually have to use erase background and then say delete again which makes the entire background transparent at least that's what I've been doing lately. Oh and on that Ichigo render lol I think that was one of the one's I was strapped for time on and used the paint bucket instead of a black layer. How do you do a layer mask?

Re: Rendering Club

I first make the background to layer then use the pen tool then make selection then delete. That way its easier.

Re: Rendering Club

hehe i started to use the pen tool for rendering this saturday :D it came out really well, didnt know how easy it made rendering i would use the lasso tool before >.< and yh i always put a background behind in a new layer to see any borders left out, but i dont necesarily choose black.. as the render might be dark.. so i would choose a light color in that case. however when saving a remove the bg.
