Word of the Day: Tsukareru （疲れる）
Tsukareru is a verb that means: To become tired. In Japanese, verbs can be used in 3 basic ways: Past, Present and Future (i.e. tsukareta- became tired, tsukareteiru- is tired, tsukareru- to become tired).

Usage: boku no ani wa boku ga waaku-outo wo shita hou ga ii to kimetanode, boku wa sukkari tsukareteiruyo!
ぼくの兄はぼくがワークオウトをした方がいいと決めたので、ぼくはすっかり疲れているよ！
(My brother decided that it'd be a good idea for me to work out, so I'm completely tired.)

Well, this club was created with the intention that it'd be used as a place where users can speak to each other in Japanese and help others to better their understanding of the Japanese language.

For now, since there are users that don't have any previous background with the Japanese language (besides anime), in order to get the main intention of this club up and running, there is a need for basic language instruction.

I studied Japanese for 2 1/2 years I wasn't that bad, so I think I can help. Even though I don't know if I can explain everything in English... I will try at least! :@*^10:

Don't worry if you can't translate it. Every language has unique phrases that cannot be easily translated. Check this post if you are interested in it's meaning. (There's some BS written there, but I cannot edit it now.)

Thanks DDv! Very interesting.
My teachers always said that there is no proper translation into German and we should just say "Hello" or "Nice too meet you". It's the same with "Yoroshiku onegaishimasu". I know what it means but can't explain it right... Japanese can be complicated at times

there are just many Japanese phrases that you cannot explain properly into other languages, you just understand some of them as is.

That's right. These are just "courtesy phrases", with no real meaning in any other situation. Just like when you say "Bless you" or "Gesundheit" after someone sneezes.

Yupp, yupp. With those kinds of words and phrases, there's not much of a literal translation. It's more of just getting the feeling of what it means by people's reactions and how others use it.
