Personally, I did not like Kira very much. Too much angst.

I prefer Athrun, even though he can be kind of down at times too.

I liked Kira way more than Athrun, he kept fighting to protect his friends at the cost of
suffering so much when he was unable to save everyone.

I think Kira tries to do too much, and as a result is spreading his attention too thin to everything.

Yeah i can see that, but if he did not try to much Kira would have ended up killing Athrun.
Kira is not as skilled as Athrun, but once he activates his inner seed, even with Athrun activating
his seed would not be able to win in a Gundam fight. The ending of Gundam Seed was
sad if you ask me as well.
