Try to remember what the kyuubi said when sasuke entered naruto's subconsciousness during the earliest episodes of shippuden when he was talking to naruto.

i think it's been implied that tobi is madara uchiha, the founder of the uchiha clan. further implied because it's 8 on 1 right now and he's like "you're underestimating me?" i wanna see tho =(

Im not sure. The first translation i read, Tobi said: "I have the power of Madara", but some people tell me, the correct translation would be "I am Madara and have its power". Even so, i think it's more probable that he's Madara rather than Obito.
