yeah i think sub is better, although we must split our concentration between the anime & sub. Because the original voices is so much better than dubs

P.S. Hentai is a diffrent story, lol. I Don't think I've ever seen a good dub there, so I stick to the original audio and subs there. ROFL
You just have to watch it two times, first sub then then what happening. I myself can do both same time, but i know not everyone can concentrate on two ting the same time.

And when i said dub is bad i meant that they usually edit the anime together whit the dubing. Since stupid ppl who do it think only kids will watch them and thei should not see violence.
Bunch of hypocrites, you turn on the tv and what you see violence... and you cant stop them see it.
A kill only turn into violent monster if hes/her parents let him/her.
Blame all of it on animes, yeah i guess parents don't want to look bad. Sorry about the psychological ranting, but i cant stand the hypocritism what bring the heavy censoring and destroying of many great animes.

Rep is always appreciated.
Spoiler!

Well I tend to get Dual Audio dvds, I dont think I ever have gotten a Straight dub with out Japanese as a choice. I wouldnt have thought they would edit a dual audio version much, do they ? If so that will be somthing to think about. I am generally a noob when it comes to anime, I think my show count is only up to 71 series & ova.

How can you go about with your company taking the same song and getting an amateur to sing that song? For example, in Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad, they took mostly all of the songs and dubbed them into english. Hirabayashi Kazuya, vocalist for Fine Lines (previously Husking Bee) had done such a great job singing Koyuki's parts. But then the dubbers decided to slap him in the face, take the songs that were written by and sung by the Japanese, and let an amateur like Greg Ayres to re-sing them because they cant stand the engrish accent that made the songs what they were. I see most dubbing as an insult to the original.

As for reading subs, ive gotten to a point where i can read subs so damn fast it doesnt bother me and i dont miss a thing from the anime / movie.
I would have to agree with you on the dubbing of music, that never goes well. All tho I have seen dubed anime where they leave the music alone and just sub for that part of it. Thats the way I prefer it.

Ahh yes. Some dubs are okay. I liked the Samurai Champloo one, even though Jin's voice was a bit off. I guess swearing sounds better when you actually understand it yourself, not through subs lol.

But overall, dubs must die.
They killed Naruto =[

I personally actually like many modern anime dubs. Lots of the ones in the 90s were awful, but these days alot more effort is put into english dubbing. Of course, fans of the Japanese versions will still likely be irked at any noticeable changes, especially when the original plot-points, personalities, or dialogues are altered. It's one thing if the dub is truly awful with wooden, emotionless drones, but quite another if the characters just simply don't sound exactly like the Japanese version. I feel all voice actors have the right to interpret characters their own way, regardless of how it's been done before.

It's often just a matter of which version you watch first, and for most of us, the Japanese version just happens to have the advantage due to it being the country of origin for the anime we crave. Who knows, there's probably some communities of Japanese fans of American superhero cartoons that constantly bitch about how much Japanese dubbed versions of Batman sucks compared to the subbed English versions.

Aaaaaaahhhhh......English dubbing of anime is horrible......if we have good actors, why don't we have good voice actors. Aaaaaahhhh.....my ears are bleeding.

I will agree with most of you. I origionally started watching the dubbed version of Initial D then I got ahold of some of the episodes subbed... TokyoPop butchered everything in that anime. from the music and sound effects to voice acting. Changing the names of characters so Americans will like them should also be wrong.

dub sucks, to the point that some anime chickz sounded like a guy!

im not really bother with always reading the sub at the bottom, im kinda like used to it by now, i dont need to focus at all. (and btw, i also like fan sub better, rather some private company subbing it)
