Summary
"The Diclonius (two-horned human) are mutants created by humans. It has a special ability that can be described as a sixth sense. These mutants have enough power to exterminate the whole human race. Afraid of their powers, people isolate them in research labs to be studied.
One Diclonius girl, Lucy, breaks out of confinement, kills her guards and escapes. She falls into the ocean after being shot and ends up on a beach. There, she meets Kota and Yuka. They name her Nyu and begin to live with her"


I read this manga a long time ago and really liked it. My roommate recently bought the anime series and I watched it. I have to say, even though the anime does not cover the whole series (it has 12 volumes and the anime only covers 7 of them), it was actually good.

This anime/manga is listed as Drama, Horror, and Psychological but I think that there is also a heavy romance plot AND harem (in the beginning anyways) in the anime. The manga didn't come off as a harem to me, but the anime surely did for some reason :)

All in all, I would definetly recommend this anime to anyone who does not mind a psychological anime series with a romance plot. It was one of the few series that I actually enjoyed watching after reading the manga.

(Plus havng ecchi in it helped a lot )

PS: As recommended, there is a lot of gore in this anime. So if you hate violent scenes, be sure to skip over this one, the manga might be better off for you.

Little comment: I think you should add that it's gory... I watched the first episode of this (because I liked the manga) and I got scared... 20 people got killed in first episode. O.o But yeah, definitely ecchi and harem.

Yeah, definitely is quite gory. The manga itself is not as gory, since most of the stuff is left to the imagination, but they show it in the anime in all it's glory :)

Same, he bought it since I said it was such a good manga, and we like the anime too. But yeah, gore + ecchi + harem!

The only reason they probably couldn't cover all 12 volumes was because they only had 13.5(that extra episode counts as a half because its time is in between two episodes [in my oppinion at least]). I'm sure if they had more episodes they could cover a lot more. But for 13.5 episodes it was great, I really liked the ending and how

I enjoyed the anime, i haven't read the manga yet ^^ But generally I think the mangas better than anime, since animes usually have to cut out some things to fit it all into a series

i could barely watch this anime, so much gore, but when u include the ecchi-ness, it kinda balances itself out heh

yeah the first 2 min about 25 people got their heads ripped off by a ecchi girl. All the blood and other stuff aside it still had a good plot and lots of twists and turns to the story

I must say Elfien is a very interesting Anime despite its quite Short. It made me draw a tear here n there =P
