Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Code Geass are about as good a mecha anime your gonna see.

I'm gonna be old school and say Gunbuster; nothing beats hotblooded female pilots!
That aside, Kotetsushin Jeeg, Dancouga Nova and Shin Mazinger Shōgeki! Z-Hen are all pretty ace. |

I also just finished Gun X Sword, great anime with comedy, drama, and awesome action. Enjoyed every minute of it.

My favorite ones (from high to low priority): Gundam 00 Season 1, Gundam 00 Season 2, Code Geass. I'm a crazy fan of them.

Macross! I love all the Macross series. It has everything I love from an anime: action, love triangles, and great music. I just cant wait for the next installment from the series. It will probably be a decade before they make another series after Macross Frontier.

Evangelion. Hands down. I hated Ikari Shinji because of his personality, but the idea behind the series was wicked. My brain nearly exploded toward the last few episodes, because of all the information they were giving. Although, to be honest, I prefer manga better. The story advances at a slower rate, allowing the audience to follow better. I mean, I had to watch the series twice to understand the Intrumentality Project completely!
Although, to be honest, I liked the series because of its plot, not because it had mechs in it.. :P |

Gundam, I only finished WGundam, the others are too mecha for me and I don't have the patient to finish all. There is something call Demonbe last year or the year before which I think I can count as mecha which I enjoy as well. "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost."
