guess you have the answer

i like AVI more, because you can do much more with it
for example: you can let it play on your DVD player ^^

Re: RMVB file vs AVI?

yeah true filesize is bigger, BUT quality is much better of an AVI, also much more players support AVI format.

as far i know only realplayer and windows media player 10(lower not) support RMVB

Re: RMVB file vs AVI?

rmvb filesize is smaller because the image is much lower quality. stick with the avi if you can't deal with mkv, rmvb is kinda trashy.

Re: RMVB file vs AVI?

rmvb quality is very poor and almost no media player supports it(media player classic and real media player)

on the other hand Avi is universal I don't think there's a media player out there that doesn't play it and burning it to dvd is easy and almost impossible for rmvb

My fav Container though Is MKV/OGM

Re: RMVB file vs AVI?

I don't know any technicle stuff about them but based on my experiences rmvb seems to be generally really terrible while avi seems good-ish much more often
