Yesterday half way through a download, I accidentally turned my wireless off. Today, I changed firefox theme, and restarted firefox not thinking and lost my download.

I really need a download manager, one which will save my download if I'm half way through it and my connection gets lost or something, and I can just open it up and continue.

I downloaded something called BitComet thinking it would do that, but every time I went to download an anime off MegaUpload it would just download the link and not the actual file. Can you either help me with that, or give me something easier to use?

Use - IDM / Flashget

use FDM
it works best with MU downloads as well as torrent capability, but I prefer to use utorrent for DLing torrents.

in the installation, it has it's own firefox plugin to help recognize downloads, so no extra software DLs are needed.

If your on a Paid MU account, you can resume paused/stopped downloads easily, but if your on a free MU account you have to take the long way around.

It continue a partially DLed MU DL, you have to start another download of the same file from the same MU link, and then copy the URL link at the top of the download window without starting that secondary download.

Then right click on your partially downloaded file, and then select Download Properties.
go to the mirrors tab, then add that copied URL from the new dl file into that mirror area, and then resume your partially downloaded file.

It's a lil hassle when it comes to resuming partial MU DLs but it works.

I've already downloaded IDM, and I'm using it now. But I'll try FDM too, either soon or once IDM runs out, it's only a 30 trial.

IDM seems to be cutting the time down by 20ish minutes. ^_^

EDIT: IDM seems to be saying there's no resume capability on the file I'm downloading. I'll give FDM a try!

If you know chinese there is a program called Thunder 5 (迅雷5). Its quite fast and it can resume MF links. I never tried MU cuz my internet sucks and cant dload RS links.

JDownloader seems to be best option. Large amount of hosting sites, even youtube videos :) Premium accounts, resuming download, extracting rars, reconnecting. Yes, I recommend that to you.

if it's about megaupload links then use Flashget, i use that too and i resume links even if i pause the links for 5 hours!

Jdownloader Fucked my PC up.
I use the full IDM program since forever and it never fails for me.
I also prefer IDM its UI is very easy and friendly and cuts out all other DMs on firefox, so none can clash.

Either way, shouldn't he have X amount of posts before requesting help?.......

Best Download Manager there is in my opinion constant updates auto captcha you can leave downloads un resumed for like a week with no problems.
