My vote goes to Number 10 or Ahra.

1) I've always believed that Halloween should be an embodiment of fear and horror. Having cute anime characters dressed up in Halloween costume doesn't seem to fit with my criteria.
2) Overall nice BG color.
3) Text seems well placed.

This was not easy. For one thing, It took four reloads of the page to see all the entries. (See my comment below) Second, there were lots of great entries. My son an I laughed like crazy when we saw Bestie's entry. One of our favorite movies. XDD

After a lot of thought (and fighting with my DSL connection), I thinned it down to two: Silverstella and Ichigofanz.

While Ichigofanz's entry is very well done and has great composition and colors, I went with # 11 Silverstella. - Very nice composition and use of color. The two impish girls, Trick and Treat, are very cute and seem chock full of the Haloween spirit. The color and shading is great. I do wonder about the light source(s), but not too much. The image fits together very well and the overall effect is just great. Moreover, it is actually a practical wallpaper!

On bandwidth

The load caused by simultaneously downloading 22 hi-rez images is huge. It took me 45 minutes and three connection resets to load the first page. Spoilers do not help because the image is still downloaded if in a spoiler. I was never able to see all the entries at the same time, though I was able to see each one once.

There is a mode in which you can put a thumbnail on Niho that is also a link to the full-sized image. The thumbnail loads when the page does, but the image is loaded only when the thumbnail is clicked. Patokite (#5) used this method. Loading one high-res image at a time is much easier on everything. Maybe something to try next time.

My vote goes to DarkJester.

Because:
1) All about the theme Hallooween are on his entry.
2) Really nice colors (the dark blue of the back showed up more the orange and white)
3) Im sure all the back was made by him.
4) The composition, (pentoolling and the brushes are really nice)
5) The lighting is good
Only the problem is the emboss of the pumpkins and text... But overall is great. ^______^

I think his wallpaper really suits the theme

i like ahra's the most, but i dont think it portrays the halloween theme very much.

so my vote goes to mr. kthxs (DJ) cuz i like the effects used on it, and how well it blends in with the render and wallpaper as a whole. still think the "trick or treat" could have a better placement *shrugs*

I vote for Vanesinger's entry I love the colors, placement, and fonts used. It also gives me a fall season feeling.
