This is the official discussion thread of Graphic Contest Section.

General Rules:
1) You can only post graphics or resources you made.
2) No imitations or derivative works of graphic materials.
3) If the image you are posting is too big use a thumbnail, spoiler or a link for it.
4) You cant post something you already posted before or use part of it.
5) You can join every contest if you want. All members of the forum and also the staff can enter.
6) Each Graphic Contest will have specific rules and theme what you must follow.
7) Discussion, questions, ideas just say here in Graphic Contest Discussion Thread.

General Voting Rules:
1) Do not vote for someone simply because you like them or the render they used.
2) When you vote, pick the entry you think should win and you must to give a reason why.
3) The votes will only count once the user specify the reason of the vote.
4) Don't vote for yourself.

Before I involve myself in this contest, I would like to ask either vanesinger or administration of this forum, is it appropriate for a person who is arranging the competition to take part in it? It is clear for me, that this situation is a typical example of conflict of interests. What's more, this person's work is unreliable.

though i'm not vane or admin i can quite say that it is appropriate;
the graphic contest is an open contest where everyone can enter, from newbies to mods, no restrictions except for the official rules that apply. just because mods will enter in a competition doesn't mean that we have more chances to win, yeah, GFX mods have more skills but they are not the only ones with those skills and last but not least the whole niho community will decide who will win by voting ;)

just one question, what do you mean by "a typical example of conflict of interests"?
and what work is unreliable to you?

I was answering and saw kosmek answer, and i agree with him.

Here before i being a mod always the stuffs participated inclusive who organized the contest. Just see last ones and sotws.

We are members as well, we just organize and moderate the forum for be great place. I think all stuffs here are allowed to have fun too and participate as well. Beside anybody can win, its same chance for all. ^_____^

So is conflict of interesting for who? =)

Is generally accepted that a person who gives the theme does not take part in it, because it is favoring yourself and do not fair against other. I do not afraid of my skill, so mods /admins/GFXTM can take part, but in my opinion not someone WHO GIVES THEME.

I'm not here to make any war or unfriendly relations but I wanna have clear situation. I was on many sites and take parts in many contests and that was the rule. Do not take this to yourself.

O_O , well i dont like theme music, i organized a lot of times sotws in another places, and there its not the member what choose the theme, and a friend of that forum made for me a software what chose the theme randomized, believed me each week decide for different themes is not easy for more than a year. Seriously this is first time what hear that i have conflict of interesting and nobody knew about this software.

But like you saying... all the members what choose the next theme for the sotw has conflict of interesting, thats means they will win or something easy for them. No i could see they try challenging themes or different to another. =)

The idea to make a contest for month, giving opportunities for other to have the possibility to get award. ^____^

The next month is Halloween, not because i decided, but once a year has, and final of the year is Christmas. So only because i became a mod, and organize the contests now i have conflict of interesting. I think its not the case.

Well i will not take for myself, But im too long not here but being mod and supermod in another place, and you dont know me, for you presume that i have conflict of interesting, not be impartial. Sorry but i m little upset, yes, its like doubt of my entirety.

But forget about the subject, i dont want talk about any more... dont worry, if its that the problem for the future ones i will ask for the Stuffs members to decide for 3 or 4 themes, and i will open a poll. In the beginning of the month what it has the contest. So this discussion is closed. =)

But remember inclusive it has special awards, the contest October (Halloween) and December (Christmas), these cant be changed or decided by me or any member.

and I think you 2 . But first when I saw this, first question was : " Maybe he/she did this wallpaper before the topic?", sorry but isnt that obvious ? I dont know you, that is true so thats why I am suspicious and You dont know me either. Form me is first time when i hear that organizator can take part in contest, so thats why I am asking (sorry for that becouse i feel like some target and evil one now =/). I was witness that one organizer of contest put the thame and had work before he did the contest!!! It was unfair and boorish. So before I do something I wanted to know that I have any chance and the situation does not recur, SORRY FOR ASKING QUESTIONS.

hummm... yeah i think im little innocent, because to me is not that obvious. because the day what i posted it was when the wallpaper was made. Even so i was little upset with random theme what it was got, the time what everybody had, because Contest is since Sep/06 and still on up to final of this week. i took almost a week to think in something, i prefer another themes. So for me is not obvious, like for you, actually never past of my mind. I always was considered by friends and onlines friends a reliable person, perhaps i dont see such malice how much you see.
PS01: In fact you were putting target on me like i was the evil one.
PS02: First time you heard the organization participate as well.. humm... all forum what i participated and participate inclusive one what it is gfx forum, they participate. Actually this is new for me what you said. And sorry for you meet a not reliable person, but sorry i dont have to pay for that.

But peace, love not war. this discussion is over. i already gave the solution, i think dont need to have complains about it anymore. =)
And you can do any questions as you want, but just not accuse a person without know her. ok ;)

Lets talk about the currently contest and about gfx, what this place was made for. ^______^

For me is also over, I only want friendly and fair rivalry, but if you say you randomly choose thame so its fine. I just do not like cheating. I already started my wallpaper so see u in contest >3
