easy buddy, im not that kind of chronic or the so-called "otaku", i had a good life here, hanging out with my friends at college, discussing together about academic matters, and etc more social activities.. i just stated that most of my hobbies are related to japanese stuffs doesnt mean im a sicko that isolating myself from the real world n worshiping them. One day i might get boring with all these stuffs and live hapily with my wife n kids.. its just about time dude. Things changed.

Like what yuusuke said, someday I am gonna have to leave behind those Japan's anime and games stuff when I have a family. Even till today, my dad still said I will never grow up because I am a bit addicted to anime & co. (I just ignore it ^^) But for now, gonna enjoy my life and if possible travel to other places to see their culture, traditions and taste their cuisines. Japan is on the list.

saying that any country is not needed is stupid
because every country contributes something to the world
no matter how small & significant their contributions are
which in Japan's case, they contribute much to the world, Anime/Manga included

And what's so wrong with Japan that someone would want it gone? I know I'm not an expert, but I think they have a great culture, great history (and I'm NOT a fan of history), and of course, the game/manga/anime industry. Who could live without that?

It's always been a dream of mine to go there, but I fear my japanese isn't good enough. And now I'm extremely jealous because a friend of mine went there about a month ago and had a great time.

What kind of jerk would say such a lame (and in a way racist) thing? I don't want to think what life would be without the Japanese culture. Animes, japanese cars, japanese women, japanese movies, japanese technology. EVERYTHING.
My dream car is Japanese and I am getting one in the next few months (A 2001 Nissan Skyline R34 GTR). The thing is because I will be importing it from Japan I have to find out how much it will cost me (I calculate between $10000 to $15000)

I'll give you some words...and I WILL be a critic whether you like it or not...

- America IS somewhat making inventions out of parts sold by the Japanese, but they are good at improving of amplifying the American history, i.e. - Turning Cartoons into Anime and Comic Books into Manga..
- The worst thing about Japan is their past act to our country, they attacked the Philippines to steal our natural resources as well as showing discriminations to us in the past...
- Since the Japanese attack was put to a halt when our allies "The Americans" allied with us and stop the attack...
- Japan sells technology to the Americans allowing a peaceful share to the Filipinos with a reasonable price...
- A good share of anime and manga is sent by the Japanese and translated by Filipinos, giving some good enthusiast entertainment feel...

All in all?? yes, Japan is needed....but others do say it is needed too quickly because they weren't former enemies to their country....what if Japan WAS against your country? would you still like them for their sin?

Japan is great, they have the best technologies around, what would we do whit out all those robotics an stuff. Not to mention the culture and the animes. Japan makes the best draw or computer drawn animes.
They say that Japanese are very nice and have a wonderful working code what does not exist anywhere else.
Whoever say Japan is useless was the century biggest dumb ass... ehem.
