look at all of the quotes Slayden put up. With stuff like that I can almost understand why this kind of thing happens
not everyone agrees with it, the lawyer got his license revoked, but when it's rooted deeply in religious texts it can be very hard to change/remove points of view

an extremely silly anecdote to try and explain my comment:
when i was a young kid my great grandma tried to give me a banana
i said no (no one knows why) with some sort of force
