Shounen vs Shoujo
If this topic is already up then please delete but I just wanted to find out.
I'm a girl so I quite like shoujo and all the fluff and light feelings but I get bored and I turn to shounen/ seinen mangas and I've found that I actually read more of the shounen-y mangas but when I go to the discussions, there are mostly guys in there, so I want to know, do most girls not read shounen or is it that they just can't be bothered to discuss it? and do guys not read shoujo?..I'm just being   otaku addict |

Never really read any Shojo mangas, but I think Shounen mangas offer more action packed stories and such. That could be the problem.

Shoujo is more for girls i think with the drama and romance the relates to everyday life.
Shounen has everything a boy wants action, adventure, romance, and drama plus the Japanese know how to coordinate fights |

I prefer shoujos in most cases, but I get more into shounens due to there fast pace and most my favorite animes are them.

I think Shounen for me.I don't really like the art of most shoujos,at least the ones I've seen.Of course though i have favorite shoujo mangas too.

It's just the simple 'guys like action, girls like drama' thing. Of course not saying that no girl reads shounen, but you're definitely going to find more guys in the shounen section.

it's true that shounen can encompass all the action and drama and romance, which I find is most common in shounen mangas drawn by female mangakas but when does the transference into seinen come in?...is it that seinen is more slow paced? or that it's aimed at older guys?

I find drama in shounen manga such as Naruto,Bleach, too fake and old-fashioned.

I might watch or read a little shoujo, but that would really be about 5 or 10% of everything I follow or finished.. I like shounen a lot better :3
A friend of mine is more into shoujou than me, but she reads/watches mostly shounen, too. |
