Recurring nightmare, anyone?
Anyone else had some? Mine lasted a few years some 10 years ago, and it happened again not too long ago.
When it started, it was like this: I was to go to a summer camp, and prepared as usual. Then, when it was time to go, I'd find myself taking the stairs to go up instead of the elevator to go down, as one usually would when leaving (I lived on the fourth floor), but every time I'd go up to the sixth floor to catch the elevator. Which would break down around the third floor, forcing me to go down the stairs. The reason I didn't like to go down the stairs is because I felt a vampire was waiting at the bottom, hidden beneath the stairs, wrapped in darkness. I would then bolt through the door, out of the building and make a run for the bus while SOMETHING was chasing me. I could always feel their breath on my neck, and it always came with a chill down the spine. Sometimes I'd get on the bus to the camp, sometimes I'd wake up at that point, screaming. The summer camp part was real, as well as the fact that it was exactly my building down to the last detail. And I could always picture the vampire in my mind, even though I never actually saw it. Freaked me out when it started again after so long. Thankfully, it was just the once, but still... |

Re: Recurring nightmare, anyone?
yeah recurring nightmares are pretty normal for some...
I've had something called Sleep Paralysis (wiki it if you don't know) and it's the most F'd up thing ever lol... i get so scared when i wake up. It was kind of recurring, same devilish voice speaking to me all the time, but the things he says to me are different. It started when I was 16, and i till have it even now that i'm 23. I've only had him come talk to me like 6 times in my life so far. By the third time I kinda learnt to filter him out when I go into S.P. So it ain't all that scary anymore, but still gives me the willy jillys. |

Re: Recurring nightmare, anyone?
Occasionally, I have nightmares that consists of me free-falling. It usually ends with me splattering, which is fortunately the moment I wake up with a start. Thanks to this, I have a constant fear of heights :defeat:

Re: Recurring nightmare, anyone?
I used to have bad dreams of me having my teeth falling out... they say that means there's like a feeling of lack of control in your life or loss of power, wealth, etc which I guess can kinda be true for me.
I also have dreams where I'm floating off for no reason with lack of gravity, sounds like it would be a fun dream but it's not lol. Also these days I don't really remember my dreams, sometimes wonder if I even dream at all. |

Re: Recurring nightmare, anyone?
Well the only recurring nightmare I ever had (and only about 3-4 times) it's about me in my old neighborhood and suddenly twisters starting lifting anything to the air and houses are torn in to pieces. But to tell you the truth, because I am quite a light sleeper I was aware that I was dreaming and I always quite enjoyed those dreams (like living an action movie :P). Hmm... if a dream sounds like a nightmare and looks like a nightmare but doesn't scare is it really a nightmare?

Also that recurring nightmare is the reson I'm a light sleeper now. But thanks to them, I'm usually aware when I'm dreaming now, so it's a lot more fun =P |
