What do you think about anime?
This question is bugging me for quiet some times. My ex art teacher did not look at anime as a valid drawing genre. ...and since then any serious artist who i spoke whit said almost the same... "it just a bad abstract thing" they say...
So i thought why not... The question is: what do you think about the anime as art genre?

It can be art, just as a movie can be a piece of art. But mostly they are simply products for our enjoyment.

I guess noon cares about the art side of the anime. And i was talking from the drawing style DDv not the anime as movie. Maybe i should have put this into art section.

Anime is much as an art genre as classic cartoons and comic books, obviously it is if it wasn't it would be taken so seriously like being adapted into movies.

of course anime is art
I'm an artist so I tend to pay close attention, like if the art for an anime is really bad It'll bug me as I'm watching it besides I know plenty of american comics that're considered art, so anime/manga should get the same recognition

I would say yes however the quality of mainstream anime tends to be sneered at in the art industry, or at least the little corner of it that I know about

yes it is if only their eyes are not so big.

When abstract was trend they said even for one drawn line "art", why not for big eyes?
