What do you think about anime?

Anime is the extension, or maybe the "Amplification" of what America once made, Cartoons...Despite it's unrealistic eyes, some of their situations are much more serious than even the human life itself. Some are even crossovers of Real Life Drama and Cartoony Drama. Many people hate Anime because they think its only for immature children and they shouldn't watch it because they expect situations that don't make sense. Anime is actually for all ages, and it can extend to content that not even cartoons or even "Real Life" can distinguish. People find it artistic because some find that they're bodies are truly eye candy from Photoshopped stuff...(or would some simply say (cute or kawaii)...In fact, some now use Avatars by use of Imagination in order to conceal their true identity...Artist Critics find Anime lacking and say that they would prefer to draw Real Life locations than watch senseless Childish dream/drama shows. Although America uses Cartoons only for Entertainment for Comedy, Anime however has a more distinct approach to where they can be 100% serious just like "Devil May Cry", and people may find themselves confused and jumbled if they don't watch the very beginning.

If it weren't for Cartoon entertainment, Anime will never exist without the core from Mickey Mouse and Warner Bros.

I wouldn't say that - there are both excellent and crappy examples of both; particularly in Europe (Belgium and France being the best examples) there are tons of comics and cartoons that literally blow me away but are clearly not anime. Not all cartoons are down at that hanna-barbara level!!

I think anime as an art form is more artistic than all those crap artists create that require no effort at all, mostly abstract. I can throw a can of paint on canvas and name it "The failure of civilization". Everything that doesn't clearly shows something for me isn't art at all. For example Picasso. Even though there is a lot of symbolisms in his work I always found them awful. I mean leave the hidden messages behind and what is left is drawings that my baby brother is doing in the 2nd grade. Now why is that more artistic than the art in animes and mangas?
I love the art of animes that's why I try to learn to do them my self (I stopped copying or getting ideas from pictures and series and I'm trying to create my own).

Even though i draw fanarts, i only take the pose of the character of a pic... like you would draw a model who sit before you. So i dont think i am so underdog in art.

AmSidar the quote you took from me wasn't for you it was for me. You have great talent in drawing greater than mine in most aspects. Me on the other hand I can't draw very well without having a reference so I started a couple of days ago from scratch, using proper techniques (I even bought a book for this) rather than borrowing ideas from other pictures, animes, mangas etc.
