Re: What do you think about anime?

Big eyes just look kind of weird and out of place (that is what I think anyway).

What I enjoy looking at most is the sky. It's a real live living (not really alive but meh) art itself.

Yes, anime can be considered as art depending on a person perspective. To a person, anything beautiful is art. Art has many forms. It isn't just a picture. I think you know what I mean.

Re: What do you think about anime?

A lot of people don't take anime as an art style in consideration because there is barely any variation you can do. The proportion are very strict bound to real life. It is a form of art though. It's an Asian art style.

Re: What do you think about anime?

Did i hear you right? Barely any variation? I never saw two same style from different ppl... if you ask me in classical art you are more stuck to rules then in anime.

Re: What do you think about anime?

i say yes. anime is a form of drawing, and drawing is art. so yeah anime is art.

Re: What do you think about anime?

I never found anime to be artistic, only entertaining.

To me, art is an inspiration to life itself. Anime just doesn't inspire with the life aspect. It might inspire you to want to draw the same OR maybe do something to making your life better. But theirs no "Explanation" to the inspiration that you could gain from Anime...unlike say...this:

that's my opinion....

Re: What do you think about anime?

Artistically.. it depends. There are anime/manga artists who regularly wow me, and there are some who are just blah, just as with any style. The major problem is that many people who start out trying to draw in an anime style (even more than those who pursue other styles) ignore the basics - learning human anatomy, proportions, perspective, all that, and no matter WHAT style you use, not paying attention to those will make it look crappy.

And yeah, even amoung the pros who do know all that stuff, there is still a lot of rubbish art. Still, there's a lot of fine artists whose work I scoff at just as much, and they don't even have the redeeming quality of humour, wit or characterization.

You're definitely not trash - you've got a lot of potential. As for how good you are.... it's hard to say - all I've seen from you so far are fanart sketches. I'd want to see a completed, original work before I make any judgements.
