: ![]() Location: Philippines![]() | Fallout 3 most overrated game? Well i started playing Fallout 3 yesterday, the first time i used the VATS is just awesome ( pausing time and slow-mo combat system, nice!), and a pretty decent storyline (oh father, father where r u?), the side quests are rather interesting with some funny choices. After playing about 3 hours of the game it started to feel boring and quite repetitive, kill this guy, get this thing, destroy this city, VATS started to get extremely repetitive, the maps are so big that i started yawning, etc. Bethesda completely failed the Fallout franchise that it felt like an Oblivion with guns So, i was wondering what's all the hype about. IGN, Gamespot, Gamefaqs, and the gamers totally overrated this game. I admit that F3 is good but only play this if you dont have any other decent games, Fallout 2 was more entertaining even with the diablo-ish style of graphics at least it has a good storyline, great side quest, funny dialogues, and the unique random encounters. I think im gonna take a break from this game for a while (my $60!!!! ) and finish fable 2.Last edited by llana420; 02-23-2009 at 08:56 AM. |

Sure it was very expanded and wide open rage, but I felt like the story wasn't THAT compelling, didn't make me feel like I was a hero in a game. I got tired of running around looking for stuff, fighting like one monster every 20 minutes. It was like Oblivion with guns. Definitely over-rated. Mass Effect put it to shame. |

At first i thought Fallout would get boring, but the first time I played it at a friends house I spent like, 3 hours just killing everyone in that city with the nuke in it. I'm not sure about it getting boring after a while or anything, but for the amount of time I spent playing it, the game was pretty cool. |

Going from GTA4 where people will die in a headshot, to people who will take several blows to the head seemed a little odd. However once I got into the game it was pretty awesome. Even after you complete all the quests there's still a lot of material to find. Like an alien blaster, or a room filled with blood and plungers, or even talking power armor. Plus the DLCs are pretty cool looking so far. Still waiting for a level cap increase. ![]() Spoiler! |

If you got bored of the VATS system then you need to play it on a harder difficulty, after about 2 hours I put it on Very Hard and it has never changed from it, it definatly makes the game alot more challenging and breaks the repetativeness. Also, if the VATS are boring I can only assume your using a 'full gun' character? They are the most boring and easy characters to make and you can walk the entire game with them without any problems, go make a full Melee or full unarmed character that wears no 'armour' only clothes, which I appropriatly called Rock Lee, once he got to level 20 with maxed all unarmed traits and speeds it was the best thing ever, VATS NEVER got boring watching a fistful of punches in slowmo on everything. My only gripe with the game was how fast you got to max level and spent the rest of the game without anymore level ups. ![]() My very first sig using all my own material! So silly but I love it vvvvvvv Spoiler! |

: ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Fallout 3 most overrated game? well , it was quite interesting , but the opponets were TOO EASY... after u find special Gatling Canon the game gets extremly boring. Or That old Winchester Rifle , it's also overpowered for a normal weap. About the quests.. Quite normal. I prefered F2 and F1 anyways |

: ![]() ![]() | Re: Fallout 3 most overrated game? Hit up the difficulty then. Dead Space was on top of my best game ever list before this came alone. STALKER is similar but all the goddamn running/walking/getting tired and mauled by gasmask tetrapods gets old really fast. On the other hand, 20% chance to hit crit with the good old hunting rifle on a raider atop a Satellite dish, exploding his head up to the heavens...Never gets old. I'll agree that you level up too fast. After painting ghoul blood over ever subway tunnel...I got to lvl 20 before the Waters of life quest. |

Finding all the goodies. Like the Burnmaster, or the Firelance, or a whole bunch of good stuff. My only regret was that they didn't have a good special Plasma pistol. But fun with the Blackhawk is fun. And it never gets old to watch a SuperMutant do a headless backflip. ![]() Spoiler! |
