Some anime are just badly dubbed, while others are terribly subbed. That being said, you can't really determine unless there's a monopoly on both sides...but I prefer sub eitherway, as I feel comfortable with the way the voice-acting is done. More anime-ish that realistic

I do like subbed better than dubbed since there are usually meanings hidden within the original language that aren't well translated into English (and the subbers usually give the info on the side somewhere).

dubbed or subbed i used to prefer dubbed but now i after watching alot of free fansubs online will watch
either kind altho i usually windup watching the online subbed version long b4 the dubbed version is available on tv or video
so either i good since its actualy very hard to translate japanese to english and thus no fansub can ever be perfect to the original like in a school setting u hear sempai and sub says teacher but it could also mean older student
u be the judge on whats actualy better bad dubbs or bad subbs

It depends on the voice acting, really. If the voice actors are good, or at least partially tolerable, I will always choose dubbed over subbed. Although it depends on the anime, as well - I could never take dubbed Death Note seriously, I had to watch it subbed to avoid laughing every five minutes, and the voice acting was fine.

To me, it depends on the series... if it's one I've read the manga before, I prefer it dubbed because I can sort of relax more, but if it's one that I haven't read anything previously I prefer watching it subbed since it makes me look at the TV if I really want to understand anything, so I actually watch it better...

Hmm... It really depends...
I usually like the version I watch first, be it subbed or dubbed... BUT, if the dubbing is awful, then OUT WITH IT, lol.

Lets take Haruhi for example... the dubbing is EXCELLENT, (except for the "God Knows" segment, which will aways be Aya's job) and I watch it subbed or dubbed, depending if I feel like reading.

Other anime, I just HAVE to watched subbed.

I preffer subbed. Most dubbed version are horrible and kills the image of the character.
