Re: Subbed or Dubbed?

Mostly subbed. Not so much because I love Japanese, but mostly because America doesn't have a large pool of talented voice actors. Anime is a rather recent phenomena in the states. Hopefully within the next 5-10 years we'll see a lot of talented voice actors join the industry so I can finally watch a good dub and not worry about subtitles cluttering up my screen.

Re: Subbed or Dubbed?

Dubbing is the worst thing to do on an anime, dubbing would bring the entertainment level down a lot, keeping it in japanese is the way to do it, subbing is definitely better.

It's not that there's few voice actors, there's just few talented ones. Many voice actors you see in English dubs are second rate actors. I mean, what looks better on your resume, your acting role in an anime, or your acting role in an Academy Award winning film?

Re: Subbed or Dubbed?

I prefer dubs because then I can do other stuff while listening. I am mostly working on Flash while 'listening' to anime episodes of DoReMi for example, but that only works when they're English or German.

True.
But you don't see many people here in the U.S. that dream of being a voice actor when they grow up.
