Hmm... Is it allowed to link torrent sites? They are different from Nihonomaru. I mean You have to use bittorrent there, it's not too popular here...

Some people post torrent links on here, like when an anime ep is released and isn't availiable for DDL yet in a MU or RS link. Some people use torrents to get them ahead of other members who wait for the MU or RS links.
Torrent Tracker links arn't usually posted, but the links to the torrent file itself usually is.

I know that. The rules state that we're not allowed to link other sites. Obviously this means sites similar to Nihonomaru. I'm asking if it's ok to link to a torrent site? Essentially they can be similar, yet different at the same time since the download method used is different.

linking to a Torrent site should be alright, as long as it doesn't link to a Community like this. Prety much as long as it doesn't link to a site that can steal Nihinomaru members, then it's alright.

It is a community site, but very small that I'd like to expand. I think it wouldn't steal away members because it's a torrent site. These two sites could "get along" very well. Imo.

You could download quality games via bittorrent then upload it here using direct download. And vice versa.

Anyway, I'm waiting for Arika's opinion. She's the one to decide. (Or a moderator at least.)

From my personal perspective, I believe that Peacock has done the right thing from the contributer's perspective and also for the beginners/leechers. Because that is basically the rule and if there is an exception, I guess the contributors wont be happy. In this case, I guess this person(the beginner) has learn how this place works and how to get to what he/she wants. Well, that's what I did recently.

You prolli feel sorry for him because we all know how difficult it is to search for a certain thing each of us long for. However, your personal feelings shouldnt affect the duty that you carry; which is to provide fairness on this server so disorder would not break out. I'd say the decision you made was very good, or others would start begging for sites as well. Plus, its not hard to get 50 rep points if you try a bit, i got mine in 10-15 days (didnt check).

And I think you are asking, not for our opinions, but for this forum's philosophy.

Assuming you want the philosophy, and btw I'm only guessing at it:
Try to maximize users, please them and don't offend them, even if they're ubernewbs.
If' they're trying to pull off a leecher manouver, let them know why the legitimate uploaders will be "concerned" (offended). But try not to drive them away. A quick "what if you upped a set of files and somebody came along and took them without returning the favor?" should chastise them, if they're not a hardcore thief lol
And if they reply with "ftw," there's really no need to cuss them out, according to the site philosophy that I'm guessing at. Kill 'em with kindness: "Sorry, no can do, have a nice day" lol

But, I repeat, in my heart, you done good.

And if I misrepresented the site's philosophy, please, everybody, let me know, but don't cuss me out lol

Hi Kiddo, well, yeah I can actually...

first, read the rules, cuz not getting in trouble is important...

then, find out some niche here that you can contribute a little to, maybe a manga or something, then up it to a file hoster and post it...

also, you can get involved in one of the various "chat" type threads and get to know some people... it is (after all) a community)

there are "How-to's" posted all over the place... and feel free to drop me a line anytime...
