Let us say that we are chopping veg*etables; when our mind ceases to be aware of the vegetables, the knife, the board, and the chopping, and it wanders to what we will do at work tomorrow (or even to what it is like to sit and look at a wall), we bring it back to what we are doing: chopping vegetables. And when tomorrow comes, and we actually are at work, that is what we are doing. So that is what we pay attention to; we simply do our work, with mindful awareness. And when the mind wanders to yesterday’s vegetables, we bring it back to work.
