-Fumika’s mother Kirei turned out to be as bad as Kirameki in the way she acts. She doesn’t care to be a mother for Fumika and only got married and gave birth because she wanted to see what it was like to experience a woman’s joy.
-Mika appears again because she thinks that Fumi is trying to run away from everything. After she punches Fumi a few times, Fumi tries to get Mika to shoot her and confronts her about how it’s really Mika that wants to live. Both girls eventually admit that they want to do all the things normal girls do at their age and break down crying.
-This final episode had a rather “blah” feel to it. Yes it was a happy ending and yes it gave some closure for all the characters we’ve seen in the past episodes, but the whole crying scene just didn’t do it for me. I was really hoping for another plot twist that involved the Shigofumi, Chiaki, and/or Kirameki, but there really wasn’t one. For me, this series ultimately goes down as one that started great and lost steam by the end.
