Stalingrad from 1993. I like this film, because Germans hadn't been shown as murderers. In other words, this film wasn't traditional rubbish about evil german soldiers. The best was last scene, when 2 men had frozen to death. Moreover, the director constructed very interesting characters as young, scared GeGe(scene of his death was moved), Lt. Witzland and "Rollo". The last of them, who was the biggest tough guy. He broke down as fast as rest of soldiers. He got simply a pathetic coward, but he still was real. Very important characteristic feature of 'Stalingrad' is naturalism.

i like enemy at the gates with jude law and ed harris. it's a fictionalized account of the sniper duel between vassili zaitsev and erwin konig from the 1973 book enemy at the gates: the battle for stalingrad.

i havent seen a lot of war movies but saving private ryan was sick.

Saving Private Ryan, Platoon, Full Metal Jacket, and The Great Escape are all good ones I've seen.
The Italian movie 'Life is Beautiful' is also about the WWII, but not really a 'war' movie per say. So would the Pianist, I guess.
