Children of Dune

it doesnt suck! *shock*

not really sure if this is the right place to put this, as it wasnt really a 'hollywood' film. i think it was aired on the scifi channel or something (i just rented it from blockbuster)

anywho, yeah. i just saw this and was wondering if anyone else had and what they thought about it.

the original dune movie was crap (i seriously doubt anyone will disagree with the previous statement, if you do, what the hell?)

the first mini series was pretty good, in the sense that it was way better then the movie but there was still a few things wrong not quite right about it (to me anyway)

luckily the Children of dune mini series is actually good (i kind of went in with somewhat low expectatiosn though)
they've changed little bits of the story (nothing too major though)
the eyes of the fremen and others are no longer fully crazy fluro blue
the actress that plays Alia is rather attractive (you'll still hate her when she becomes a possessed phyco though)
*edit* o yeah, and the music to this mini series is really good too


um...yeah, i know i havent listed that many good points about it, but i remember after it finished and just thinking "that wasn't bad". it's called children of dune but its actually both messiah and children (messiah wasnt a very long story anyway) so...anyone else seen it?

Ahhhhh, it's been so long since I read any books from the Dune series lol. I loved them while growing up because I think one of the first games I've ever played was the original Dune (not the Red Alert predecessor, the one where you fly around sietches and the like) As soon as I was old enough to grind through the original book, I started getting hooked on the series....stopped when I got to college though, I'd love to pick it up again.

I actually prefer de first tv series, because even is this second is better done, the story of the first books is better.
Still I really liked both, and the ost of children of dune is oneof my all time favorites. The special efects improve a lot also, which doesn't surprise since they previous ones weren't that good (didn't suck badly tho).
